In the comments of the latest blog post it was mentioned that you guys will code the new code on top of the existing code, does that mean you won't redo the engine or was I simply imagining things?

No that means they will work on both at the same time, not literally put the new into the old. They are technically developing two games at once like this, but the one that is coded in a superior fashion (the new one) will eventually replace the old.

    In a more detailed explanation:

The devs are making two games. There is KAG we have now, and the new KAG. The new KAG is in a new engine, and is far better. They are still updating current KAG, and all features will transfer over to new KAG. New KAG won't be done for a while, and will definitely take even longer to get where we are now. Hope that clears it up.

This is the statement I was getting at. The "wresteling the code into behaving" part made me wonder if thats what they meant or if they are somehow merging them.

I am still mostly working on the old code just to provide you more KAG faster, the new engine is something I do after hours.
