S.T.A.L.K.E.R Online

Recently I found out about Stalker online, it is based on the stalker series.

This game is an Open world game with missions, and it is ALL PVP, other than safezones. This may sound like a bad thing, but people hardly PvP. You can do whatever you want in this game (do missions, collect artifacts, PvP)

This game MAY seem hard at first, but I assure you with a friend, this game is 10x better. Artifacts are your best source of cash. I would recommend finding farming spots. Remember this game is in BETA, so has a few bugs, but is is fun.

IMPORTANT:
This game is originally in russian, and they are working on translating it to English. You will find errors, and some things unchanged. English is not the only language in the world.

That really sucks, but its alright. Some people are mean on it, and just PvP.

 

Very grindy and slow game, everything kills you until you get your hands on an assault rifle. After that there isn't really much to do. It doesn't really have the same feel the STALKER games had, I mean there is still artifact hunting but the monsters that spawn, spawn in static areas so it still gives traditional feel any other MMO would give you, and not really one of exploration and adventure that the STALKER franchise boasts.

The newbie/training area that all MMOs generally have in szone-online, is probably the biggest waste of time and makes you spend forever running around in this large maze like closed off area. You can't just skip this area either, you have to do the main storyline FedEx and kill X monsters quests to get out of there. Seriously, you'll spend a good 2-5 days walking around in the dumb newbie area before you even get to touch the main world, and you still won't get an assault rifle for all your hard work. So you are stuck fighting the main world's monsters and players with only your crappy pistol, until some nice veteran clan-member notices you suck and gives you some equipment and money.

Despite all of this, when Birdman159, McChunks, Radpipe and I played this, it was really fun to play right up until the point where we got some assault rifles and good gear and just couldn't figure out what there was to do. We did do some exploring, found some interesting places, shot some scary monsters, and played running simulator 2012.

Also, as I recall there are no guides to fast travel with, so you have to run massive distances from place to place to get specific equipment and what not, which is extremely dull and boring.
