saying "Known Harrasser and Griefer" all CAPS, almost guarantees kick

Kicked by a player named "Doomsday" using this tactic.

Fix this shit. Should not be so easy to vote kick a legit player XD god damn guys

 

There are a thousand other threads complaining about the votekick system.

 

To be honest, I always press F12 whenever I get a kick dialog, no matter what.

Perhaps the system could show a PiP of the player in question so that judgement isn't as blind as it currently is.

 

One thing you have to understand is that there are a lot of foreign players that have to deal with a language barrier. They understand the word "griefer", so they vote to get them kicked.

 

One question. Why? I know it's the griefers fault, but maybe you could actually read the name? There must be some people you know would not grief or are actually on your screen at the time of votekick!

Indifference rather than ignorance, I'd say. The system is obviously flawed. If I can't tell for sure whether the player in question is in fact a griefer, then I'd rather not risk it and press F12. There really isn't much I can do other than blindly pressing F11 or F12.

Also, you're being rude.

 

Try to think for at least a few seconds before you hit F12. This means you're one of the (no offense) idiots helping to get me kicked. Don't hit F12 if you don't see any actual griefing going on, and read the name first.

 

You could perhaps look around you. Sometimes all it is, is a question of seeing that perfectly legitimate person right in front of you trying to build you a ladder up to the enemy base. "OH I CANT SEE HIM OH WELL F12". Don't tell me you wouldn't press f12 on this occasion as you said "No matter what." There isn't much excuse when the guy has a massive red circle around him! Don't you think you're being rude by vote-kicking without even batting an eyelid?

That's also like saying "The system has a lot of bugs and exploits, it's entirely the coders fault. I'm going to use them, because I have no choice in the matter."

Oh i've even got a better alternative. If you're completely unaware of a griefer/innocent person. Don't vote. That's right, just don't vote at all. Surely it is better not to act when you have insufficient evidence to do so, especially considering an influx of reports of votekick abuse? You said the system was flawed yourself.

 

TAB, check score of the votekick target..... then decide to press f11 or f12 otherwhise were like adviced to be rude lol.

That's my whole point, torchic. I can't tell apart who's griefing from who's not. How's checking the name going to help? Should I not press F12 on people called "NotAGriefer"? And I can't go back to the spawn point to check on that guy because I'm usually pushing the front line.

This is my last response. I've made my point. Twice. I see your point, and I'll try to refrain from pressing F12 and let the griefers frolic about, as you request. Perhaps you should step back for a second and empathize with my case.

 

I once votekicked a person because I was a knight and a builder looted another builder's body before I could and that made me angry

By hitting F12 you ARE letting the griefers frolic. The most common griefing as of now is votekick grief. How about you empathize with MY case. I know many people, including myself, who can't play a full match most of the time because someone grief-votekicks them. And in my particular case, I can't play at all, because I'm followed between servers. Again, think before you hit F12. If it's a player you know is trustworthy, go with F11. Especially if you see no griefing anywhere. I'm not saying to LOOK for griefing, I'm saying to think a second about if you've seen any.

 

I understand what you're trying to say. I have pressed f12 blindly before. I see the window and it pisses me off half the time and I just spammed f12. I changed after all the reports of votekick, and I saw that people who were not actually griefing were getting kicked. All I was saying that to press f12 indiscriminate of absolutely everything just doesn't help at this point in time. Pressing f12 if you cannot see any real evidence after looking on your screen and such I wouldn't blame you for to be honest. We're not asking you to refrain from pressing F12 at all.
