Lately, i have been playing archer, and i found out something wierd.
When you press down as an archer you faceplant and lie down, right?
Why, then, do you not get impaled when you do that on spikes?
    Wierd.
Anyone got reasons why the devs didn't do anything to this? Or was it just deemed unnescessary?

Mhm...true but, when the knights and builders kneel down on spikes they don't get hurt?
Same way they haven't thought of it yet. Funny though i guess i understand.

Mmh, but builders and knights stay on the same block when rouching, so its understandable.

Archers flop onto the block next to them.

Archers are like disgusting slimy jelly fishes, they don't feel pain.

I'd love to see those one spot shooting archers start impaling themselves at will.

How is this bug abusing? The only reason is seems like archers lie down on the space next to them is because their "crouch" allows them to hide in tall grass. If you're already on spikes, pressing down on them isn't going to harm you further. In fact, it might be useful for playing dead.

Yeah, combined with how there's no collisions when lying down, can be a useful way to trick guys to try and Gumba Stomp you, only for you to lay down at the last second as they explode.

Of course, there's always the chance of stray bombs and arrows getting you, but it's a nice novelty way to kill all the same.

No, it's not. It's questioning the theory behind how an archer is allowed to 'slam' their entire body onto spikes in front of them and not get hurt.

Temt a knight to fall in and attack you.(your archer)
Last second-duck down so your lying down.
Knight dies or gets afterlife! (the no health bug)
    Shoot him quickly.

    Repeat.:)
    Win!

seriously: its clear that you havent played the good old "prince of persia" games.
of course, if one would lie down on top of some spikes, he'd get impaled.
but if YOU would lie down when standing on spikes, how would you do that?
In those prince of persia games, you had to hold the shift key: the key that makes you sneak and be carefull.
if you'd lie down on spikes carefully, you wont be hurt:
the spikes have only a tiny point where they actually touch you, but if theres lots of them, each spike will press just as hard as any other one, and your weight is completely supported by them.
a little bit easier: if one spike will impale anyone weighing more than a pound,
two spikes will need two pounds,
    three --> three pounds
    etc, etc, etc!
this is actually not completely correct, but its good enough for this situation.

Nothing funner then tea-bagging a long sharp pole as knight, taking damage would ruin that.

doesnt have anything to do with inferior intellect.
most people would not even take the time to tell you that I dont have any AT ALL.
why it relates to the OP, is that it explains why its possible that one doesnt impale himself when he lies down on a spikey surface.
