Steam and Desura key

    Ok if I activate the steam key does it add it to the existing steam account? and when I activate it can I play the downloadable version as well? and final question, does this mean that I can give my steam key to a friend and both of us have the full version with my friend on the same server?

    The answers to these can be fairly easily found by searching the steam forums and here. That said:
    • When you activate the key you get King Arthur's Gold added to your steam account.
    • When you play the steam game for the first time, it asks if you want to create a new account or link a previous one to steam.
    • This does mean you can create an extra account with your steam key and share it (and even have different names) - however be sure to make sure your friend doesn't get himself banned, or we'll flag both accounts as they're presumed to be from the same person.
    Note that you can already join the server twice with the same account anyway though, this isn't exclusive to steam. Same rules apply.

    Yes. There'd be no point having a steam account that could only play classic considering it's not advertised or for sale any more.

    Hey geti, see if you can get KAG Classic added to steam as a free download, maybe it'll make people say "Wow if this is the free game, I should try the paid one!". I figure it can't hurt (Unless you lose money for it then n/m)

    We're not likely to dilute the player base more than we can avoid. I've made my feelings about alpha clear elsewhere; it's not ever likely to be promoted or widely distributed.

    You're welcome to build a classic mod for normal kag, that would be much more sustainable than splitting the client. We won't be "merging" the two engines as that would be a large and ugly task for no real gain from our point of view.
