The best way I can describe Sword Of Fargoal is that it is a simplified, yet still complex and challenging dungeon crawling rogue-like RPG. You start on the first level of a 20 level dungeon (each level containing 4 expansive rooms), with your goal being the Sword at the very bottom. When I say simplified, however, I don't mean that it's a walk through the park and picking dandelions. You'll still face off with some tough enemies. Combat works by running into a monster on-screen, and the battle plays out. Depending on your speed, that's how quickly you can strike, sometimes up to 3-4 times before the enemy can hit you. You can drink potions to increase you agility, strength, cast a Shield spell that protects you from all damage against that particular monster, etc. It's very dark however, and you can only see 1 tile ahead in all directions. When you break through the "fog of war" style darkness, you can see it at all times; you just have to uncover it. There is also a Light spell that helps you see farther, an Invisibility spell that obviously makes you invisible to enemies, a Detect Traps spell (that is ESSENTIAL, as most of the chests are booby-trapped), along with magic wands that do things such as shoot fireballs, open locked chests, and teleport an enemy. You can pick up numerous shields, gold that can be sacrificed at Temples for experience points, and so much more.

    Here's a video.

If you haven't played it or don't like rogue-like games, this game may just change your mind. Soon, (they never gave any kind of concrete date) they'll be updating the game and calling it Fargoal 2, adding Classes, new weapons, new maps, and much much more. Definitely one of the best games the iOS has to offer! I believe it's only $0.99 at the moment!

While not a huge fan of rogue likes, dungeons of dredmor was nice.
    This looks promising too..

I personally hate rogue-likes. So far, Sword Of Fargoal and the less dungeon-crawler like 100 Rogues have caught my eye. It's definitely worth a download.
