The new voting system...

Guys, you really have to change the new voting system. It sucks totally!

What do you need to be kicked out? 1 idiot starting vote for no reason, 1 guy who pushes in favour, despite there weren't any acts of griefing, and the rest of people, who don't care.

I was kicked this way 2 times now. Please do something!

 

Actually votes require twice less votes to be passed iirc but the keys instead of clickable buttons prevents from autovote (usually)

Before the update it was really hard for a vote to pass, now maybe a bit too easy even though I like that next map votes actually work now. I guess the golden balance is not easy to be found.

 

I know... I remember these unkickable griefers, because most people don't care. But on the other hand if you need one troll + someone who doesn't know shit, what's happening in team, to be kicked...

 

I was suggesting at @norill at irc the following: Keep the yes>no system but the vote only to work if the % of players voting is larger than a default percentage. If not then vote is void. But again most people don't care or auto-vote yes so I don't know...

 

votekicking is serious shit and abusing it will be punished. you can report anyone who abuses it and his ability to vote would be taken away

 

@norill can there be a quorum for vote kicks? some thing like 33% +1 of people on the server. I've see two vote kicks go through with only one person voting.

 

I think it should be made more obvious what a player is voting for. Once I saw a player I didn't like and I assumed we were votekicking him only to find out that he was votekicking me for no other reason than the fact that we didn't like each other.

Tl;dr Make voting more obvious and accidently voted against self lol

 

i can do that, but seeing that some people want it and other are against it, it should be configurable in some cfg, so server owners can decide what they want.

any concrete feedback besides "i have trouble reading a dozen words"?

 

I would like if the voting message appeared in the middle top of the screen for a second then migrated to where it is now.

 

Well a simple solution in most instances would be to make friends in KAG... Try checking out the clan section

 

I guess the first words I read were who started the vote, not what we're voting for. I think itd be better if the thing we were voting for was directly above the Yes and No

 

The console still does not display the name of the person being votekicked. So there's no way of knowing whether you're being votekicked any time you start seeing votes being cast.

When you are being kicked, you don't see the voting window. And the console (chat) says "a vote was started by ___", but only says who is being kicked after the vote finishes, IF the person is kicked. So it's a hassle to check if the guy starting the vote is on your team (because of the retarded inconsistency in when the game displays nicknames and usernames; the name of the guy dropping spikes on everyone is just the one you have to look up to get the name you have to kick), by which point the vote may pass before you can defend yourself.
However, I was recently confused to see a griefer apparently vote against his own kick.

 

i'm pretty sure you can see the voting window, unless you lack the seclev needed to vote

 

You can't see that the vote that was cast was against you, because it's against you, but you can see that a vote was started via the chatbox. With that in mind, if a teammate casts a vote that you don't have the option to participate in, then you can be reasonably certain that it's a vote to kick you. lrn2inductivereasoning
