Usually, I don't ever put a curse words when I type in the game. I usually think before I go do something. I think before I sent this out.

When you are thinking up of a plan for your team, like you say "Lets tunnel to their base" and you don't want them to know, make sure you are not telling it to All by pressing "T", make sure you are telling to the team by pressing "Y".

If you call someone a name, you start an argument with someone. When you call out "newb" make sure you know what you are talking about or they will say "I'm not a newb :( ".

When someone fails badly so many times and the player is sad :(:QQ: , don't make it worse by calling the player an idiot. The player mite just get upset, start saying stuff back at you and rage quite.

If you are trying to say someone about something but can't get it out right, try to making what it is your trying say to something easier to put out or don't message it out at all. I you have mess up word the players mite not know what your talking about.

I don't curse because you mite not know the person's age, like a little eight year old might be playing and he said those things in front of the player's parents.

I here people say stuff about their privet parts. That is just grouse and people mite leave. When I heard stuff like that I left the server. (Or you could just ignore)

Try to say something out nice every time you are trying have a conversation with someone.

    Play well, Speak well.
I'm not saying that you have to do this strictly or have to lessen to this, but it would be nice if you talk to other players nicely.

"Think before you speak" Read over your post, see how many errors you have made. Over all i don't think this is really a suggestion as much as advice. Before leaving a server because someone is making vulgar statements concerning their private parts, try using the ignore button.

Personally, I consider making a terrible player quit my team a win, so I will start calling them idiots from now on.

Thank you for the advice. ;)

The very nature of KAG doesn't promote "nice" game play. Anything that doesn't fit a certain criteria is instantly thought of as noob.

When a new player comes into the game they are looking around seeing what they can do to help. Usually they go builder because they feel they aren't ready to go knight yet, however what the new players usually don't understand is that: Your teams buildings are the key to success. Even if your team is making great progress on the front and you don't "need" defensive structures there is still the matter of pathing through the base. If the path to the front lines is delayed by a massive door hallway/slab tower/impossible to get over tower. This can severely hinder the team.

EDIT: Just remembered that the game filter is turned on beginner at first so they can't go builder...yet... However the above paragraph still applies because new players usually won't understand the nature of building in KAG right off the bat. :EDIT

A new player will think they are helping and when they get shouted at it doesn't help, but how else do they learn? I've found when I calmly try to explain something to a new player they tell me to "fuck off idiot" like I'm the one that is the noob. So I usually don't tell anyone anything unless they ask, and I work on my own towers or wait for them to leave their tower before fixing it.

Some times, new players come to the forums and learn quickly after a first bad experience, other times they turn into rampant greifers because that is how they learned to play the game.

I don't support the use of bad language, and I try not to use it either so I see where you're coming from. It is a problem I agree, but one that is hard to fix, because it requires behavioral change of the community which is not really possible*.

*Unless KAG is changed to promote a better learning experience, but I don't see how. It would help if everyone saw the forums and looked through a few major threads before playing the game, but again, you can't force this kind of thing on people as it might deter them from even playing at all.

As long as their are wilfully ignorant fuckwits playing this game, there will people shouting at them and using the kind of vulgarity they usually deserve. A small handful of newer players will listen, others won't. One of the last few times I tried to calm(ish)ly help someone, I was explaining why it was a really really stupid idea to build a tower 10 blocks back from the one I was working on, really really went out my way showing them how easy it was to jump and build a ladder in midair and get over his stupid tower, his reaction to put a few spikes on it, then after doing the same thing again and removing all the spikes to prove a point, the admin got pissed off with me spamming the chat with fundamental advice, after informing them I was making an effort to help a new player, I got a ton of shit cos they'd been playing for "months". Moral of the story being that really really bad players can quite happily carry on being fucking awful and not care/not know/not want to know, and if that's the kinda standard from people that have been playing a while, it's no wonder most pub servers are a breeding ground of awful players, and when you get people on that know what they're doing or at least think about it, then they're bound to get really really pissed off.

Like has been said, if you really don't like it mute people, but unfortunately there's usually a very good reason for that kind of smacktalk going on, I don't think I've ever done it in any other game I've ever played, but KAG just seems to have such a stupid community of players on average that it manages to drive me to it, never to the level of calling people noobs or any other internet slang bullshit cos it's fucking weak, but I've never done so much ranting about how awful a team or individuals are in any game ever. If you mute the abuse you might well miss out on some very good lessons to learn amongst it though.

What we desperately need is a building tutorial, going through very basic principles, obviously the mechanics of building will change so fundamentally in the new KAG that alot of shit we think of now is gonna be totally worthless, but hopefully it might provide a clean slate for people, just need to make the most of it by getting some tutorials sorted in some way or form asap.

We need some sorta "noob" class. Its like the migrant in that it has a slap attack, and you can pick them up and throw them around.

    More seriously though:

If a new player is willing to learn, I'm sure all of us is very willing, even eager to teach a new player the ropes of the game. Its just when they are so darn stubborn, foul mouth and lippy its kind of a turn off. When you're trying to teach someone how to build proper buildings, and all they're ignoring you or telling you to screw off, its hard to have any patience with them.

I much prefer to just think on the fly, like the Moist Von Lipwig of Terry Pratchett's Universe I bumble along flying on my whimsy, vigor and wit. Its far more interesting than thinking before you do something to just simply become really good at doing things before you think.

As far as this post goes, I'm not entirely sure what you want to say. Seems like you would want to do a lot more thinking before you speak. From reading your post its apparent you didn't really put much thought or effort into it. Take your own advice before you give it to others please and thank you.
