Windows Uncomfortable picking up preference

    Description: When trying to pick (tapping C and not pointing exactly the item) materials, bombs, kegs, or other normal items up, if there's a corpse close, you'll always pick it up before. This creates the situation in which, for instance, you try to take a lighted keg from the enemyes to throw it away from your tower, and you begin to pick and throw bodies away to clear the space. Also, sometimes, as builder, when you try to grab a millsaw after cutting a tree, it takes the seed first.


    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Join any server through the browser.
    2. Find a situation in which there are several bodies close to an item you want to grab.
    3. Try to grab this item by tapping C

    I don't really consider this a animportant bug, but it needs its own thread. This could be adressed with making specific preference list for each class.

    Yeah I've always hated this. It needs some serious tweaking. Logs and tree seeds should be swapped too, so you pick up tree seeds before logs instead of vice versa.

    IMO, dead bodies are way too high on the pickup priority list. Sure, you can push enemies with it, but there are more important things. A specific list for each class would be great.

    I've fixed the picking up of bodies last night, as well as per-class pickup priorities - as it was, all materials were being deprioritised if you weren't builder, which meant that bombs and arrows were harder to pick up as military classes. That has been fixed. I'll be pushing a new build including those changes tonight.

    @Klokinator the seed already does have higher priority than the logs

    @Nighthawk Making a specific list in config or similar would confer uncomfortable performance overheads that I'd really rather avoid at the moment.

    I watched a guy, a few hours before the new build, try to pick up a bomb arrow as a knight that had dropped. Unfortunately, while being right outside the enemy base, he kept grabbing corpses, tree seeds, and logs before some guy jumped off a ledge and Down-A smashed his ass. It was hilarious, I hope I see more shit like that again.
