    It's not clear what game features will be available if I purchase the "drm free offline" version of the game.

    Will I only have access to the Solo menu (i.e. Tutorials, Save the Princess, Challenges, and Sandbox modes)?

    Will I have a kag2d.com account that I can use to log into the forums?

    Would I be able to spin up a private server on my LAN and join that server with the drm-free-offline client?

    Exactly what would I not get if I only purchase the "drm free offline" version of this game?

    There is no seperate "drm free offline" version of the game.

    Purchasing the game gives you access to multiplayer;
    Singleplayer is free and you do not need to purchase the game to access it. Simply click "Offline" at the login screen.

    You are logged into the forums are you not?

    Yes, you can host your own local server but the game is meant to be played with other people.

    I've highlighted the part of your quote where your confusion is coming from.

    Simply put, all version of the game are "drm free offline". The only difference is whether you've paid for the game or not. If you've paid then you can play multiplayer over the internet (which is the bulk of gameplay, fwiw). If you haven't paid then you can't use the game over the internet (although you can still set up a private server and play with friends on a LAN, iirc).
