I'm curious for a couple of reasons.

I really like the idea of making something tangible that others can appreciate but I have no idea where one would even begin.

Making suggestions is fine and all but unless someone else wants to actually make whatever suggestion happen chances are it never will. Also, me, personally would not have nearly as much satisfaction from creating something if it was someone else's idea. I think there is a lot more gratification in, I thought of this I created this.

What kind of education or background do you need? I don't imagine becoming a modder is some simple task you can master in any short period of time.

If nothing else I hope this thread will give me and the community a better appreciation of how much work is involved in being a modder.

Speaking as a non-coder who's actively trying to get my head around modding so I can make stuff I'd like echo Shambls' sentiments.

I've had gracious help from various modders, but even with that and trying my best to read up on how the whole c++/AS dealio works it's pretty heavy going (oh, and using this since it came out https://doc.kag2d.com @Verrazano you might want to update your modding resources post to include it now that the devs have released better documentation).

What I'd really like is a idiot-proof, step-by-step walkthrough of making a mod as an example to work off (ideally it'd be a mid-tier mod that involved more than simply applying a new skin to things :L). But that's if wishes were fishes as I'm really not in a position to either poke others into doing it or make it myself. Back to headbutting a brick wall then I guess ::(:

I wish I had time to make such a guide. If you really want the most help possible you should come to #kag.modding novices such as @ZeroZ30o have slowly leanred and picked up modding with no prior knowledge by just being on irc and talking to myself @Strathos and @Skinney
