Why is respawning so ANNOYING?

    Every time I played a game yesterday, I had this brilliant strategy to mine to 110 gold so I could purchase a ballista shop and bomb bolt upgrades simultaneously, charge out as a knight and wreck the enemy, then bomb their base. It would work WONDERFULLY if whenever I died and selected the ballista as my spawn point it REMEMBERED my spawn point was set at the goddamn ballista. But no, sometimes it does not remember it, or maybe it swaps me back to home base because "Lol you have like 300 coins go buy kegs then walk all the way back whereupon the enemy will have taken the ballista!"

    Also, if I notice that my spawn isn't set at the ballista and I click on it before I respawn, my respawn timer resets. WHY?! Now the game is not only changing my spawn which I clearly chose one death before, but it's punishing me for trying to switch back to it! 5 seconds may not seem like much, but that's 20 blocks or more the enemy has gotten closer to your base/second spawn point.

    My proposal:
    1. Either remove spawn reset timer so I can freely pick my spawn without worry of reset times or...
    2. Make the damn game remember my last spawn and use it!

    Preferably both. Also, keeping in mind that SW Battlefront didn't reset your spawn timer if you chose a new point, it's not like this is a terrible big change.

    I haven't had any spawn problems like that before but I do dislike how your spawn timer is bumped up 10+ seconds if you change your mind. Because of this, I agree with your first proposal. Really does get quite annoying.

    I would vastly prefer 1 over 2 but ideally we'd have both. 2 is more of a bugfix though so that would be preferable to literally nothing.

    I thought the timer resetting was a bug? If it is then it REALLY needs fixed because I absolutely hate it.
    If the timer reset is a feature then it is a bad one I would like removed...

    Also I have experienced the bug where it doesn't remember the spawnpoint. Normally in TTH so it isn't so bad.

    I also agree that the respawn timer reset should be removed. That or make player spawning wave based.

    Agreed. This is probably a bug that I've noticed many times and needs to be fixed.

    1- If I choose a spawn point I don't want it to change randomly

    2- I also don't like the timer reset if I change my mind.

    3- And another thing, if a spawn your trying to spawn at is destroyed/captured, you're not informed of this as you spawn to the tent instead. You can't switch to another ballista or boat if you already chose the non-existant spawn, either.

    If these are not bugs, then a dev can explain why.

    Yup. This happens to me all the time. I select the ballista to spawn at, expecting to respawn there next time only to wind up back at my base. Whenever I see im not set at the ballista, I click it and get 10+ seconds added to my timer.

    There actually has been times when it has glitched and the timer kept reseting. I had selected to ballista and then the enemy team took it. So my timer got 10+ seconds and then another 10+ when they took it. I then got stuck in a cycle of this as my team and their team kept taking it back between that time since you can not change your spawn point once you select it :(

    Yes, I would love for the spawn timer to stay the same when you switch spawns- I agree with all the points posted above.
    Also, consider this situation:
    I have just been killed. We have a ballista near the front. I an auto-selected to spawn at ballista, but then I see a rogue knight attacking our home base, with a keg. I switch to tent spawn, and it adds ten seconds to my timer, in which the knight gets the flag and leaves, winning the game. :(

    I have 2 additional related gripes about spawning here:

    1) I can't see how much gold I have when spawning. This gets annoying when I'm choosing whether to spawn at the ballista or in base to buy items; knowing the amount of gold I have would let me make a better choice. I rarely check my gold mid combat, being able to look at it when spawning would be nice.

    2) I have to wait for the spawn timer to run down when I change teams. I understand why this exists normally. But when teams get imbalanced, the game asks me repeatedly to switch, I do and then have to wait 10 seconds, I feel like i'm being punished for doing what it told me to. Players switching teams to maintain balance shouldn't have to wait. I'd be much less reluctant to balance myself if i knew I didn't have to wait.
