:T well I guess my plan to make intuitive to kag players didn't work so well. I thought that using wasd like kag does what make it simple. arg nobody figured it out though.

    How to zoom in/out?

If it isn't possible it would be a nice function..

thank you for setting these people straight smurf, I was gone for the weekend and couldn't reply :T I hate it when no one reads the instructions that I purposely put in front of the download linking for that very reason.

I'll be working on an update fixing quite a few bugs. Hopefully I will have it out around next weekend. I'll post and update in the forum when I release it.

Maybe you could remove it that people have to type "Base/Maps/mapname" but just the name of the map?

The only problem is what if you don't want to have to put all of your maps in a single folder? What if you have a map outside of that folder or deeper into it? I may take out the Base but I'm not going to go further than that.

yea I can work on that. Sounds like it's pretty easy to implement to the biggest problem would be changing the hitbox for the tiles. But that's a matter of changing the scale factor. I'll defiantly work on that.

I've pushed an update so if you all run the launcher and hit start or force update it will download the newest binary and content.

    1) I fixed any bugs related to the mouse, mouse position and movement keys.

    2) I changed the map name input from having to be the direct path like "Base/Maps/duel.png" to "Maps/duel.png" it automatically adds the "Base/" onto the beginning for you.

    3) fixed the parallax background in the editor.

    4) I added the new map feature.

    5) I wrote stuff to put in the about page.

    6) fixed the dual tool.

I hope you find this new build encouraging, please spread the word. My hope for the next update is to add a tools palette with things like a dropper, fill, zoom in and zoom out. I would like some other suggestions for easy useful tools. Yet again please report bugs and give me feed back. Show me what you've down with my map editor!

Hey there. Thank you thank you, exactly the tool KAG map editing needed. I was a good map maker for Mount&Blade Warband, but I could never be motivated to make maps for this because the available tools were so counter-intuitive. This is just what I needed.
Anyways, after some using, I have a few suggestions, starting with the most important and ending with the least important for me:

    1) Please add a faster scrolling option. Maybe on double-tapping a direction key or holding shift while moving something. I was doing a 400x100 map for the RP mode, and scrolling was a bit of a pain, to be honest.
    2) Add zooming levels. It's just handy to see how your map looks zoomed out, or at the standard KAG zooming level. If that requires too much coding, a mini map displaying the current map would also do the trick.
    3) Add some kind of progress/loading bar or just a symbol. I was really freaking scared when the program didn't react anymore on saving. But this is just a convenience feature, if not possible, nvm.
    4) A visual indicator for the map edges would be awesome. A red line or something. Right now I have to draw a block frame each time.
    5) A toggable grid would be neat at times, so you can handle counting and block placing better. Again, convenience feature, not a must-have.
    6) Scalable brush/cursor size. So you can place 4,9, 16 blocks at a time. just these square numbers should do the trick imho, will make even big map editing blazingly fast.
    7) Box selection placement. Meh, weird word for it, I mean like pulling frames/boxes around an area like selecting multiple things in windows. Then fill that area with a block of choice.

    Thanks for considering!

Thanks a lot freddex! Your feedback was a lot of what I was looking for. I will consider putting in a lot of these things in the near future update. That was a lot of good ideas. Thanks so much again for the feed back. I'm glad to see some one is actually using the editor.

Tehe, not a problem, I just did the easy part with throwing around ideas, implementation is the real challenge. :)
