    In all likelihood Hell is a void where there is nothing but oneself; forever surrounded by the rest of existence, but eternally cut off from it--always craving what you do not have, but not having it because you have severed your connection to it.

    That said, Jesus and numerous others have been content to convey the discomfort of the situation as a lake of fire, so I'm perfectly happy to use that metaphor in lieu of a more technical sobriquet. ;)

    Out of curiosity, Beef, are you referencing the use of "heaven" to refer to the sky/space as seen in the Torah?
