Also, grinding is a MUST on EO 1. EO 2 still requires grinding but it isn't as harsh. EO 3 is the easiest but you'll still die for underestimating enemies.
Poison always sucks, so I went with Fire. Don't know why poison is an option. Status effects and poison damage suck on every except your own party, every game. Also figured that the protector should focus on defense.
Front guard is higher priority because front line has ~80% to be targeted and higher hp = higher chance of getting hit. Poison isn't effective because most monsters/bosses have resistance and the effect wears off in 2/3 turns.
Allslash/2-hit/Tornado, axes are better for bosses while swords are for random encounters. Defender is a good skill for protectors because it adds defense for the entire party. Get Defender to at least level 1 and max it at 5. Any higher than 5 wastes TP that should be used on line guarding.
The medic's skill "healer" > all, you'll want to max it because it increases how much you heal without increasing TP cost. Go for immunize so you have elemental + physical resistance buffs. Salve heals as much as Cure but goes for the entire party. So try to use it if you can.
I always went with the full loli team. You weakling. By the way, there is always a loli option in all 3 games. So don't worry. The 4th game continues the line-up but has furries.
For reference, that means I can 2 hit a hare with a defender/landsknecht. 1 hit anything with lvl 3 fire (except FOE) and I can take on 2 FOE before having to head back to town because I get low on TP.
You don't have to fight that FOE on floor 3, it's actually not supposed to be beaten until you're level 15 or so. Every 3 steps it takes a "break". The door is on the opposite corner from the stairs.
I feel slightly overleveled on the 3rd floor at lvl 10 (that's a joke, hares are so annoying). I'm gonna train until I can beat that FOE on the Third level, then I'll go on past the guarded door.
So for my alchemist, I was wondering, should I really just focus on Fire Magic for just now, or should I start trying to learn volt (since it seems more useful than ice, since more enemies are weak against it).
Also dat feel when you fight a Stalker at lvl 13 and win because you had preemptive strike and the ablity to boost on the first turn. It was tough, but it was a great feel.
Volt isn't necessarily better, most enemies don't have resistance against it; however. The choice is really between having two elements that are effective against select enemies or having a "neutral" spell that doesn't get blocked/weakened. Your choice, really.
Not really, if you get the AOE and single target fire + ice spells, you're very well off. However, you lose out on the high damage bossing spells to trade off for two effective spells. Thor is really for those that want all three but don't have enough points to dedicate to a third element. Deals damage and gets you your elemental spells.
That feel when I forgot that there were no AOE spells and thought it was EO3. It hertz. Max 2nd spell is better than the 3rd spell because of damage:TP ratio. Take out AOE in the above argument and everything is still valid. My bad.
Well for Fire the spell set is: Fire, Flame and Inferno.
Flame is just stronger than Fire, while Inferno attacks everyone on the field, and has a slightly stronger attack than Fire.
Inferno and Cocytus is not worth it in my opinion. Because the mid/end-game has enemies that won't all be weak against the same element. That's why most players go for a full fire+volt or ice+volt build.
What's your planned alchemist build? I was wondering if you were going to go for the legendary tri-elemental build only dreamed of by the greatest masochists.
I might actually do that. I'll probably focus on Fire and Ice to start but then I'll pick up lighting. I'm 100% sure I'll have to grind like hell and it won't be worth it, but it'll be worth it.
Good luck actually pulling it off. The skill point cost to effectively have all three elements is massive; considering that at least 20 points into an element is usually the minimum.
>spend 1 hour in the beginning to get all characters to level 2
>suddenly ambushed
>all of them die
I would kill the guy who came up with it and then myself. They already have a certain enemy that steals a certain item. I think I'll let you figure it out.
