It sets your camera to the midpoint betwren your cursor and you, rather than on you. I've been using it to double my line of sight for archery.
To be honest, It's easier for me even as archer to use the default, as on some servers you can fully zoom out and have a huge view anyway.
But I'm worried that the increase in risk of being snuck up on and the required far end of screen (durring archery/ scouting) mouse positioning are to big a trade off.
