    Okay then. They were quite popular in Poland in 70-80s (not sure, I just think so but something like that). I was reading wiki article and saw there is specific australian name for them so I thought they might were popular in Australia too. Btw, is it true that there are tons of venomous animals in Australia? What's your experience?

    I think it's fair to say that, outside of places like the amazon rainforest, Australia has the greatest number of venomous creatures in the world. That's actually not the main problem though; the main thing is that there are a few key poisonous things

    (like: copper, brown, and tiger snakes; funnelweb and redback spiders; blue-ring octopi; box and irukandji jellyfish; and rockfish) that are all pretty deadly and no matter where you are in the country you'll likely be in the territory of a few of them.
