I tend to find that tubas constructed from toothpaste and nail clippings are more fragile. Trust me on this one, the toothpaste never congeals at the right consistency to maintain structural integrity throughout the blow-cycle.
Granted, but iirc the MSDS for toothpaste doesn't include music creation as a safe adaption of toothpaste from its original purpose. So really, you've only yourself to blame.
I've seen worse. Once, I was unfortunate enough to have to play a trombone consisting of cardboard cutouts of Barack Obama. I assure you, it was extremely difficult to maintain an even pitch. I ended up breaking the delicate slide, and was sued for several million dollars.
Luckily, I hired an extremely good lawyer and managed to avoid the payment. I then sued the owner of the trombone back, and profited from the lawsuit greatly.
