There's definitely a world of interpretation there, Inf. I mean, there's hugs and there there are *hugs*, there's liked it and there there's *liked it*. And even within those categories there's a range of motives and honesty-- such that admitting something is actually a sign of integrity rather than being a jerk.
Dunno the actual details, ofc, but from the sound of it (unless your response to being hugged was to grind your gf's sister) you're just being honest w/ the motivation of having clearer line of communication with you gf; which isn't a terrible thing on your part at all. :3
