I would troubleshoot, router first, restart modem, test ping in other games. If you're on wireless router, run ping test, cmd > ping 192.168.1.1 -t ,<- if you have neighbors using same channels their router may interfear wit your signal, you would see it in ping test. Also if you've made any driver updates recently i would look into that.
Also annoyingly as my father had set up the connection with the ISP initially in true dad fashion he has forgotten the wireless router login password, his password for the ISP account and the email initially used to set up the account
Long story short this breaks down to me not wanting to ask my father to call the ISP provider to sort this out so that I can binge play kag and watch anime with gleefully reckless abandon :3
ah! fun stuff, if your router is separate from modem you can help your dad by resetting it to factory and re-setup with new pass. He's gonna have to do it anyway if he wouldn't remember the old. Good luck ;)
