^ That and toff was actually trying to do her job, I'm not trying to defend anyone here, but let's keep it civil guys.
Moderators are meant to keep it safe, as human beings they tend to use their instincts, they may not take the decisions we like but this doesn't imply that their opinion is right nor does it affirm that ours actually is.
TL;DR: Let it go?
The position of forum moderater serves only to provide self satisfaction for those who do it. Its p much one big circle jerk on this site and if you call them out for stroking their danguses you get punished.
Life's too short to waste on reviving the old clash between mods and forum users, just saying.
And as always, I'm remaining non-biased and giving a neutral opinion, so feel free to accept or discard it.
your neutral opinion is crap. There are no rules that were broken(i actually read them did you?)and it isnt the victim's job to let it go. I was personally more irritated at the claim that she was moderating off topic-ness when she really wasnt she was moderating "pg-13" which is relative as hell.
pg-13 is different in literally every country so it is pretty open to interpretation. Just deleting things dont fix the problem people are still gonna be salty that you are trying to silence something that isnt against the rules. Moderators arent even trying to come up a compromise like "spoiler all things slightly vulgar"
"No excessive swearing - Vulgarity in light conversation, and vulgarity directed AT an individual or social group are two very different things." i can only assume light conversation means jokingly in good humor which literally defends what was posted.
pg-13 is different everywhere. Ive already brought that up please stop with the bullcrap. Did you even read what the rules say? Vulgarity in light conversation is ok meaning, i assume, jokingly talking to each other with vulgar words is fine. There is a reason no one got warning points and that reason is that no rules were broken
everyone on the forum uses male genitalia
even MM, "i'm not going to suck some cock's guy to have more players"
two posts in general discussion about butterscotch's dick
two short posts.
they get removed by a 13 yo feminist
"so that's PG-13?" i decided to report every post on the forum that uses the word "dick"
41 reports, mainly from SAP thread
also a report of a pornographic gif
"different rules apply to clan section"
but a mod in the SAP thread said that pg-13 aplies to clan section too.
i get banned for mass reporting, then get unbanned and they took my reporting privileges :^D
i think the general dealio for that stuff is avoid pornographic shit and also being a cunt. different peeps from different places have different ideas of pg-13, as punk says. if you're a perpetual pain in the butt, though, then the active mods will clearly take a dislike and be less lenient.
the rules and stuff are super detailed because that's the way FBB can be pretty moralistic, as well as long-winded, so he went for lawyer rules rather than shorter common sense ones.
My general irritation at this situation stems from the fact that the mod said it was ok to talk about male genitalia if it related to the picture so naturally i took her up on her offer. Then low and behold the issue is pg-13 and they basically admit that the posts deleted weren't off-topic. Generally dishonest things tend to set me off.
I get the whole morals being upheld, kids watch the forum, "use common sense", but i find it abit weird that whenever you point out that the rules dont really mean what they are trying to say it means, some moderators just stop responding. Not all admins just some.
ay, i'm not gonna go into the conduct of other mods, i'm just a bottom-feeder, not a top dog. i'm not involved in that, frankly i don't want to be involved, mostly because i've stepped back from the forums a little. i agree that it's scummy, but i don't know the other sides point of view.
if some mods stop responding, then it's probably because they trust other mods or admins to take control because they're a little unsure or just think they might make a wrong step, or have done. i've done it before, it's like appealing to your manager at work when you have a tricky customer.
