Yep. Dem Sword Masters with their 60%+ critical hit with a killing edge. They rarely get touched and they just kill everything single handily. I think I once did a whole map just having one of them run around with 5 killing edges by themselves and they annihilated everything without needing to heal.
Too bad they always have defense growths in the 10~30% range. In harder modes, they are harder to utilize as an offensive unit and serve more as a damage chipper (Shadow Dragon, anyone?). My favorite myrmidon has to be Joshua just because of his FABULOUS style.
They were pretty terrible in Shadow Dragon. They were godly in Radiant Dawn however. Which reminds me, True Blades and Marksman (with their 3 block away hit range) were OP in that game.
Only OP due to the enemy not being able to counter attack. I feel that the FEs on the Gamecube were way too easy. I literally strolled through the game as if it was nothing. The hardest difficulty had a few impossibly hard levels followed by the easiest levels. No consistency on difficulty. ;_;
Have you played ChinaFE?
It's a Chinese modification of FE 7 that is extremely hard. It has random characters from FE 6~8 such as young Guinevere and old Guinevere with insane growth rates. They also have a modified 3rd tier class system instead of the traditional 2. You can go from Cavalier > Paladin > Paladin v2.0 with higher stat caps. You should try it sometime. It's extremely hard and arena abuse is REQUIRED.
It's not normal arena abuse. It's a required mechanic in ChinaFE. Every enemy is 10x stronger than the original, but to compensate all characters have 60%+ growth in every stat. Fiora and young Guinevere are recommended due to their 70%+ stat in everything (except Guinevere's ~15% in DEF). If you need help on items/chapters then I'm your man.
