When two knights fight each other one of them wins, there are no cases where both knights die. I was wondering then, why an arrow and a slash can both deal damage instead of one taking priority, and any stun effect?

is this a ping related issue? and what would it take for arrow-to- slash combat to work as slash-to-slash combat does?

Becaue there i no "Clash" effect. It's whoever hits first (Velocity helps...). In the .gif, the knight killed the archer after the archer shot, but the arrow hadn't dealt damage yet.

It seems like what Jepton said was correct, and it's likely the arrow wasnt slashed since he was stunned after slamming into you which left him open.

    Order of events:
    1. Knight fell towards you with charge
    2. Knight slashed you
    3. Your arrow releases
    4. Knight is stunned from fall
    5. Arrow hits stunned knight

This is just how I saw it. I might be totally wrong.

He was stunned by the arrow, not the fall. I'd like to know more about his "clash" effect. If the arrow can beat the slash in timing why does the slash still kill the archer?

The arrows doesn't override character states as strongly as slashes do.
It's why slashes can invalidate each other, but not arrows.

Just be glad the arrow landed.

In short, his slash hit you before the arrow released. After that, the arrow hit the knight. He couldn't slash the arrow because It wasn't in the air when he slashed.
