    I think Spitfire's Hyrule Castle looks good and would easily fit the regular units server.

    I don't know many of them, Sidefort and the floating islands would fit the best in generic CTF imo.

    Btw, why has it been so laggy the past days? They have both always been my favorite servers, but these days even blocks get placed with delay :(

    I'm still not sure if the host is to blame (overselling openvz VPS's is by definition the industry standard) or a latest build issue (recall people complaining ~build 200 about extra "odd" lag, freezes etc). Other than that, the servers are not running anything else that consumes bandwidth.

    Yea, all the servers seem to be more laggy in this build.. I hope that whatever causes it, will be fixed soon.

    Is it possible to make spawns longer on the clan match server? Maybe like 25-50% longer?

    the default values are:

        playerrespawn_seconds = 5.0
        nearspawn_multiplier = 3.0
    
    Will tweak to 6.25 and 4.05 respectively (~25% and 35% longer)

    Thanks for changing it! Longer spawn times are really needed in clan games, the current quick spawns make it really difficult to push forward, leading to stalemate.

    Though personally I wouldn't make the nearspawn multiplier so high, in fact I'd even make it a little lower. It's already to the point where it's difficult to place outposts, not to balance spawn time vs vulnerability, but for the fact that the nearspawn multiplier makes it so that if you move it too far forward it actually takes you longer to get back into the fight. It also makes it harder to judge when allies/enemies will respawn.

    I'd say something like 7/2.5 would be perfect, though that's just my vague estimate. My knowledge on clan battles is limited and my knowledge of the spawn formulas even more so.

    Unfortunately, after extensive testing with Wyeth, dnmr, Downburst & Hardpenguin I've come to the conclusion that I am either incapable of increasing spawntime or that something is broken. Tried everything humanely possible, even installed a vanilla KAG in a different directory, default everything etc, only tweaking those two variables, the result? Nada. Still 4 seconds max.

    Noburu claims his Action! CTF has longer respawns :>:(: I'm stumped, will probably have another go at it later today.

    Incarnum and I discussed this in IRC yesterday morning, the only thing we can figure out we have different is that we both copied the CTF folder and renamed it in order to keep a default folder. I use CCTF rules folder on my CTF server and a RCTF on my Rapid server. The original CTF folder is unchanged on both of them.

    Btw, after Thiel's suggestion the clanwar server is currently 200x150 tiles big, despite its erroneous name.

    Maps in rotation: generated mountain, flatland and hole.

  15. Trelawney, is it possible for Carver and I to use your two servers for the KAG Tournament? we are looking for European Servers and i believe that yours would be the best to use, especially as one is already passworded.

    The host for 150x150 (qualityservers.co.uk) is calling it a day by the end of the month, so i figured why not hog all the resources and bandwidth I can till then, in lieu of a hosting swan song :rollseyes:

    150x150 is now 30 slots (originally 12) and sv_compression is set to off (to accomodate the increased CPU usage)! Enjoy till the server goes down for good.

    As a sidenote, surprised to see that 150x150 tiles can accomodate 30 players on a 128mb Lowendbox VPS and with an average load of ~0.3

    So 150x150 is going down, but what about 200x200? I'm assuming that's with a different server host?
