So, this is my basic tower design which I use most of the time. It's fairly cheap.

    Basic Design
    [IMG]
    Key features:
    -drawbridge ladders
    -Avocado Trap doorway
-door built into wall for safe repairs
    -built on bedrock
    -basic archer nest
    -my specialised block dropper.

The tower should be built atop bedrock to dissuade tunneling. If no bedrock is available, simply place one or two stones. The main feature of this defense the wall's outcrop, adorned with the safety block dropping mechanism. The mechanism is extremely effective as it is just 6 blocks from the ground, can be prepared and triggered behind the safety of the wall, and can be easily triggered by knights as well. I much prefer to use drawbridges for this sort of thing instead of stone wall, as it is easier to destroy, and can more easily be destroyed by friendly knights. The downside of this is that you can't prepare the trap if knights are jumping against the wall, as the trapdoor will be retracted, but this can easily be prevented simply by damaging the bridge as soon as you place it.

    Beefed-Up Design
This is basically what I the wall will evolve into with more work put into it:
    Key features:
    -arrow/bomb workshop
    -additional drawbridges
    -added height
    -more deadly block dropper
-stone storage (in the form of spikes).

    Summary
Now, understand that this is still a work in progress. I am still seeking to improve it, and some aspects have not been fully tested. I'm not quite sure how effective the Avocado Trap doorway is, as it's set back, and I'm not sure if knights will actually hit it. I'm kind of iffy as to whether the door should be four or five blocks from the ground. If the door is four, knights can knock it in if they vault, but that requires that they dig a ditch, which the bedrock/stone is supposed to prevent. Otherwise, it's best to have the block dropper as close to the ground as possible to lessen the time the enemy has to react.

Thanks! I appreciate input, and I hope you can relish in the wonder of my go-to defense. :D

Needs spot for archers to shoot straight down onto knights
Why do you put the ladder-teamdoor on the inside? Wouldn't you want to put it on the outside so players can still retreat if teambridges are opened + it is a more tempting bait to lure in knights

    just offhand
    • if you replace stone above broken drawbridge with door you give archer opening and can reset stone trap.
    • could also try spike under broken drawbridge and drawbridge under spike
    • allies will break stone storage

    @Foxodi-
Yeah, I understand that. I've been thinking of a solution. Geti and I were working on the problem and I think the solution has been found. And yeah, I guess I put the team ladders on the inside to maximise exit speed, but tbh I don't know why I don't just put them on the outside first :P .

    @Jackard-
I actually find that allies don't break the stone storage, simply because it's out of the way, and if they're taking the spikes for stone; then it serves its purpose.

a (few) suggestion that might be of use.
you should replace the stone storage with a roof or double wall, because 1 block wall is just too fragile to resist a hit from a catapult or mob of knights.
characters are 2 blocks wide,if you put a wall segment between each block you could double the range for less resources then originally intended to.
and you can also press wall segments to replace the drawbridge, this is riskier but more accessible to the trap at all times.
and 1 or 2 drawbridges on the top for archers wouldnt hurt either.
    thats all for now.

Stone wall to drop blocks with is much much cheaper starting next build. Just a suggestion.

Yea, now that you'll be actually losing materials when breaking things, traps for builders change a lot and the mechanism will almost always have to be background wall.
