    @OP, the dual trap blocks are indeed unneeded. Make the tower more like this:

    Pretend that the wood door is a trap block and the dirt blocks are wood blocks. Alternate stone wood stone wood for the blocks under neath the spikes and put a backwall over each spike along with a trap block on top. Much more effective, less costly, and more deadly.

    Of course it's still a kinda bad trap anyway but I'm thinking more along the lines of "Your trap could just be a tad more effective."

    look carefully:

    correct? good

    on KAG beta ladders take up 3 blocks and can also be rotated.
    you can get a party of: :builder::knight::knight::archer:
    the knights and archers cover the builder while the builder rotates his ladders to horizontal and places them on the side of the trapdoors
    everyone can get up now. builder breaks the doors and mayhem strikes. and if the distraction of the military units isn't enough you can make one of the knights bomb jump over the tower and kill evrything:chicken: and evryone :migrant: while the builder an archer and a knight does their little routine

    and if the builder falls in
    (say the gold is a saw)

    :gold_bullion::gold_bullion::gold_bullion: :bridge: :left: builder can jump in here where there are no saws (if there are spikes builder can destroy them pretty fast) he keeps destroying evrything in the trap, the others will drop down and since it is trapdoors there only tower's opponents while be able to get in:wink:
    then the builder sarts a tunnel RIGHT through the base and up into the hall/flag/whatever

    :dirt: ^ <- :hammer: :sword: :bow:

    both ideas will work just as well(or be stamped into the ground just as well)

    critiscm is welcomed::):
