Archer Nerfs

    Agreed. It seems like a no-brainier to have a bomb cap of one, but I'm still not sure what I'd do about arrows.

    Did anyone else notice the archer was shown under animals in the new build?

    Bomb cap of 3 will be fine once the terrain damage is halved or reduced, and Geti says it will be in the next build, so i'm not worried about this anymore.

    I think that guys who are complaining on archers just need to practice more...I play whit archer now and i can usually get more than 100 kills on a 32 slot server in one round.Whit out camping ofc.
    I started to work on a "tutorial" for new players,(and old one)about how to use archers,knights and builders abilities in game.
    I will just say about archer.People forget that they can climb on arrows,or they don`t know that!It can help many times while you are chased by a knight!Usually you run till some wall facing knight,tryng to kill him...It works sometimes,but just sometimes...Easy way is,run,turn towards knight,shoot one fully charged arrow to make some space,fire one arrow 2 blocks high on a wall/dirt,jump on it and and keep firing and climbing AND collect those arrows as you climb...Hard?No,just practice.
    Another way is,shoot them in the back!Yea,i know you know that...Knight is running towards you,you fire one fully charged or just shoot so he will raise shield and now you run towards him and charge your arrow,jump over him and shoot.Works most of the time cause as you can see that in 80% of knight hits works only in front of him and not above.Don`t know why is this so hard for knights..
    If you are good,you can play whit 6 arrows all day(proved it on HA server where there is no trees and archer have only 6 arrows on re-spawn!)
    So,it is not in max number of arrows that archer can carry or how many arrows he get from a tree,it is problem in other players!Why?Cause they almost never drop arrows that they pick up on the way...Is that so hard?You have 10 arrows as a knight,you run and see friendly archer,stop,aim at him,jump and press C...Voila!
    Many threads on this forum talk about some problems,balance etc. but teamwork is something that is the MAIN key in KAG!One player will NEVER win alone!
    MM,make some rewards for teamwork and we will see a huge boost in gameplay and quality overall!
    That is why people play,to be first on some list or to get something that someone does not have.
    For everyone who don`t like this post,i am sorry,but i don`t care! :p
    For everyone who says that it is not all in points,rewards etc,well it is!If it was not in that,we would never have anything like that in game anyway!But we have,and we want it!
    To be better,to have more,to win,that why we play.
    Teamwork rewards anyone?

    Archers are terribly overpowered, and even more so when they are experienced. I would like to see each individual arrow be more dangerous and have less of them, then having them spam arrows.

    Maybe to fix the archer, he should have a steeper learning curve. Maybe it's too easy to start getting kills.

    Archers jumping on my head in battle as aknight should be dead meat, but for some strange reason I can never hit them. Ever.

    I seem to remember every archer nerf leading to a buff that negates the nerf completely. Actually, that's every nerf in this game, that's a real problem.

    Fruit for thought, gentlemen; unless some horrible changes took place in my absence, you can dig trenches. You can hide from arrows in said trenches so long as the archers don't have a clear shot on you. This of course mainly applies to builders as they're the only class that has to worry about archers, really. Even so, they can build walls to block their shots.

    Learn to deal with archers, its quite easy. Id say more but typing on a phone is exhausting.

    I really think archer would benefit from being left alone now. If you leave the class for a while knights will find ways to combat them to add to the ones they already know, and will get more skilled at playing. Also knights may get a buff in the future in some way (at least they HAVE to have one to counter bombs not being automatic - they will be produced in a workshop, so reliance on builders.) so i'd say the class is fine right now. They don't start with any arrows, 1 arrow per tree hit, so it's not as spammy, but they are deadly per arrow. They will be indirectly nerfed once the item trading and item drops system becomes more efficient, i'm sure MM doesn't plan to have it so that an archer with 50 arrows drops ALL of them on death.

    My opinion is that the hiding mechanic just needs to be tweaked just ever so slightly so that you can hide behind any corpse. But I guess you could argue that it is easier to hide under fresh corpses because rigamortis has not set in or that the body is still warm and thus it hides you better or that it would make archers overpowered. My opinion is that an archer hiding under corpses is just a free kill waiting to be discovered and that putting your cursor over every corpse is no so hard to do.

    I see a lot of people saying there should be an arrow cap of around 40, I strongly disagree. When there's a good setup and people are pushing I can often use 100+ (150~+) arrows in one life before needing to reload. Being able to catch the failed attempt arrows from the enemy player definitely helps in this respect, but only being able to catch 30 is only a minute or two of arrows at most, I'm pretty much constantly firing while on defense. While on offense it might be okay to only need 30-40 and then have to reload, you need to:
    A) Be near trees or you can't reload
    B) Be safe or you can't reload

    Having no way to block and be out in the open and have to charge every minute or so gives the enemy archers or knights possibly pushing up an excellent chance to catch you totally blank with no possible backup at all. When an archer has no arrows they're pretty much dead if they can't outmaneuver knights.

    I only really can last long in the first place if the builders built me a good place to shoot from, but when I do have one I use it as fully as I can, and I've used up to 250 arrows in a life no problem. I try as much as possible to be a little back and not on edge so that if I can rush back to my spot I haven't just lose over 100 arrows in the off case that I've died as well.

    Just a thought against the 30-60 arrow cap idea, if not at least please just make the cap a server-side variable.

    edit: One thing I do find strange when fighting knights as archer or archers as knight is that I tend to lag a lot when in there and it can make a big difference in dying or not, a properly placed shot can be very different, and the 'times' that I see with the times that they use are different, I can see a knight not even have his shield down long enough for a half strength hit, then he hits me with a full hit.

    70 arrows should be cap. Why you may ask: Beacuse i often see archers camping on high place and shooting everyone for 6 mins :F Also realise that a knight can "handle" 3 bombs while archer handle 250 arrows. Kinda weird :F
