He DID say that Half Life and Counter Strike was one of his worst... so you never know. You have an interesting and unique taste in FPS's, my friend.

Well I have no problems with anyone disliking anything. I am just curious what it was that made him disliking the game. If, we are talking about Allied Assault. Reason why I am questioning him since MoH:AA was the first game I played online on a regular basis and have many great memories from it.

    Loved the campaign as well.

    You win my soul.
Planetside was one of the greatest underplayed FPS titles out there, it's just a shame that the devs abandoned it.

Planetside 2 will without a doubt revive the franchise and put it back at the number one spot hopefully.

The Worst FPS? Well, it's pretty obvious: Darkest of Days.

I wanted to shoot myself when I played the goddamn demo.

  4. Well, my favorite would be Borderlands but I mean, the ending..... It gives me chills just thinking about it. I spent about a week on and off playing it and another week coping with the ending. I had a neutral, emotionless look on my face for about a week.

Best FPSs: Fallout 3 (the story was not too bad, the atmosphere was great, possibly the best soundtrack in gaming and the content), Half Life series, Far cry series. That's about it off the top of my head.

Worst FPS: Turning Point. I saw it whilst ditching school with friends for the first time (not rebel, it was the last day). I thought "Wow, an FPS game with an interesting concept for only $5!". Man, did I regret that.

I am talking about the Medal of Honor of 2010. I don't like the gameplay of that game and campaign are really bad too.

I find an FPS game is fun depending on who you played it with, in terms of fun, definitely Halo demo on PC.
We used to play this on the computers in LOTE class, all you would hear is, "Who's in the bloody banshee!!!" and non-sense like that.
    (MW2 had it's good days)

    Cube was crap.

I almost forgot, we also had tonnes of fun with unreal tournament.

MW1 was/is also a ball in class. We have had 16 player Halo matches and 1up to 18 player MW1 matches, good times.

I don't really have a least favourite, I don't play to many games. (I mostly play KAG)

I like Halo: Reach and Ace of Spades for the best FPS I've played. I don't have a worst but If I did, the 1st Halo. It was good but everything else I've played is better (in my opinion).

  8. Sorry bud, but if the first Halo is the worst FPS you've ever played, you haven't really played that many FPSs.

    Man, kids today.
Original Halo was pretty ground-breaking at the time. Every iteration since then was just making small improvements on its already solid core concept.

Also, as BeasterDenBeast says, there are far, far, far worse games out there than anything in the Halo series.
    Far better too :p

  11. The popular gamin' world seems to be in a rut as of late. Modern, gritty, "realistic", military orientated games seem to be the key to success. It all comes down to a lack of ingenuity and an excessive lust for money. I grew up with such titles as Duke Nukem 3D, Wolfenstein 3D and Doom. Each distinguished itself from one another despite being made by the same company (3D Realms, formerly known as Apogee to my knowledge). In a world with people that would rather take someone else's idea to make money than create/build upon an idea to make a good quality, yet unique game, I applaud the original Halo for at least differentiating itself from the crowd at the time.

Aye, I feel the same way. As do many others.

'tis why indie games are enjoying so much popularity lately - they're not afraid to take risks and do something different!

Best= Deus Ex Fallout NV/3 Half Life series,or Timesplitter series :C both of them are good.
Worst:COD 5 multiplayer, this game's maps had more campers than a bungalow park.
But thats just my style, I'm not much of a FPS guy anymore due to the damned same goal: go here and shoot that.
Nowadays most of the games don't even require skill anymore, you just hide somewhere for 10 seconds and the gods grant your wish to heal and you shoot again.
I'm not bitching about realism but they could at least keep the "Hoard hp while you can" style.

    Shad, you are right.
Since a year or two, i've nearly adbandoned all the 60 euro huge-ass-publishers and electronnic shit games, and took a dive into the awesome world of indie games. The communitys, the gameplay, its all so much fun, and the games are much, much more creative and fun. Tough i still play valve games, but they only made/released good games.

I'm not too much of a fan for blatant fps-es, but I have played a fair share of them. So here is my glorious list.

    Best:
Borderlands - while it does get boring after the first playthrough or after completing each class, the fun is multiplied by playing with friends.
Wolfenstein ET - definitely a skill-driven game, I liked it for it's simple gameplay mechanics, yet it being hard to master.
Medal of Honor: Allied Assault - one of the few MoH games that actually runs on my swiss cheese of a laptop. Multiplayer with friends on Stalingrad were... let's say, memorable. Hiding in windows and then sniping enemies on the other building with a rifle was always fun.
    Left 4 Dead / 2 - Zombie survival with friends = fun.

    Not so good:
Actually I don't remember any bad occurrences, like I said, I have not played not so many different FPS-es to be a great judge. But I'm not going on the bandwagon and put the CoD or whatever here either, because I have simply not played them.

  16. Best: Probibly have to be Battlefield The original 8-bit. The best story line ever.
Worst: CoD Black Op's. THE STORY LINE IS THE WORST I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!!!!!!!

Best: Goldeneye (General Ourumov was my favorite splitscreen character, oddjob can suck it) Half life 1 and 2, tf2 and tfc and fortress forever. Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Call of Duty 2 (not modern warfare!) Red Orchestra Ostfront 41-45, Project Reality, ARMA II, Killing Floor. (PS: I know I am forgetting a lot of games)

Worst: Call of DudeBro: Modern Brofare 2, So many terrible games I don't know where to start, so i'll leave it at that.
