Boiling water buckets

Boiling bucket is good idea. Made over campfire which needs to be crafted!

 

This game needs more defenses that you can put on top of walls. Catapults are good for offense but not very good for protecting your own tower.

Possibilities:
-Burning oil cauldron: You can 'use' it every X seconds, and it throws oil particles which fall and kill people below.
-Rock thrower: Like the oil cauldron but throws rocks instead of oil.

Rock thrower = builder with a boulder.

 

Let's get lava traps, automatic cannons, tripwires, pulverizer traps, dart traps, and sub-machine guns for the builders so they can "defend" themselves better. I think we can all agree that would be very fun (for builders) and very awesome (for builders).

 

Boulder is too expensive. A cheaper alternative that only kills players but does nothing to walls is needed.

 

in my opinion boulders are fine, they cost just 30 stone, which you get by swiching to builder, and they can ''onehit'' stonedoors and wooden doors. all that for just 30 stone is quite good.

 

Boulders are great for destroying walls, and their price is balanced.

They are not meant for killing people, they're too expensive to be used like that.
Thus we need another kind of throwable that does not affect walls, only people, and is cheaper.

 

There was log collision, but that was horrible and easy to spam, hence it was quickly removed.

 

It was pretty funny when Geti wouldn't believe that they were OP until we got him on the server and only killed him with log tosses.

 

It's OP if you can just throw them.
They should be very heavy so that a player cannot throw them very far, unless using a catapult or something...

It could be as simple as this. The dropper has a built-in heater, so all you need is to add something in, wait a little bit for it to heat and presto, on activation : BURNING PAIN! As a builder you could build this, it comes with one charge, then you need to recharge it simply by ''shooting'' it with water (either bucket, water bomb or arrow). You wouldn't catch on fire though, that's not how water works.

The problem lies in many maps simply not having water, and oil/sand not being a resource at the moment. But just water would be easy. Water is always available in bomb and arrow form though.

EDIT : As for boiling water buckets : obviously water doesn't stay boiling for long, so it should have a timer. To get one, a builder could do this : the dropper has 3 charges or so worth of buckets to load it with. A builder simply has to wait for the water inside to boil, and click on it or press a key to grab a bucket load and quickly throw it at an invading knight before it cools off. Both the dropper and the bucket could have a little steam effect to indicate boilage :P.

 

would be a good substitue for the removed hatchel/satchel (forget the name of the firebomb thing)
