Afaik the abuse flag is actually intended for those spamming ideologically sensitive remarks, but noone has been flagged as such to my knowledge. You'd have to ask Furai what he intends it for. Exploding kegs in the base is under the umbrella of griefing.

Re: The difference between "ban" and "strict" flags

The distinction is actually serverside. Ban flags are flags to check for current (un-expired) bans, strict flags are flags to check for any history ever.

As you can see here, the user "strack" has been flagged as a griefer previously (over a year ago) but has no current tags. You can choose to ban him on your server if you want to take a hardline approach to anyone with a griefing history, or you can choose to only filter "recent" offenders. You can also choose to do nothing about griefers joining your server at all by removing the griefer flag from both your ban flags and strict flags.

BlueLuigi is on the money in that it's a much more flexible system than the old "bans" in that we just issue an indicator, and server owners are free to do as they choose in response to that, rather than us ultimately mandating who can play where.
