It is confirmed, I just won Verz :).

 

Group A battle TONIGHT



Catch it > 7:30pm GMT

-The session will start possibly 5-10 minutes after that time, as contestants will be given a chance to warm-up on the 1v1 levels beforehand.



The match has been confirmed with all the players. It's ON.

Tournament Proceedures

Players will be given an opportunity to warm-up on the new levels before the match. Once the warmup period is over I will bring both contestants to the middle to explain the rules. During this period the audience is asked to be quiet. After I have briefly gone through the rules with both players (the first two to fight) the audience will be told they can say whatever they want to either contestant for 10 seconds. After this period the audience will be asked to only teamspeak between other audience members. Every contestant will 1v1 each other, totalling 3 mini matches per player; and 6 in summary for the group as a whole. The players who have won the most and lost the least will move through to the next stage of the tournament. The players who are at the bottom are out. Each mini-match is a first to 5 kills situation.

This server will only appear close to the match time. If you join before 7:30pm GMT, feel free to have games until the contestants arrive.


THE RULES

For competitors:

-All items from shops are permitted, however most levels have no traders
-You can use anything you find on the map at your own discretion
-Retreating is allowed, however you are not allowed to run away during entire game (lol, i mean obviously )
-This is an archer contest, therefore do not switch to knight
-You are allowed to resupply your arrows from the spawn point as much as you like
-A kill is not counted if you kill yourself straight after your opponent has been killed - e.g. landing on a spike half a second afterwards. However you are allowed to kill yourself a second or two after if you want to perform some crazy victory celebration.
-Both players in a game are fully allowed to use emoticons and message each other. But if you get an arrow up your ass as a result, it's your own fault

Players will be warned first if they are breaking a rule and if they continue a point may be deducted from their score - however this is unlikely to occur as contestants usually turn up for an honest fight

For audience members:

-Only be spectators from the point on after I say
-No messaging to the players when the game is in session. Use teamspeak only to other spectators.

If an audience member breaks a rule they will be warned or even possibly banned straight away - as we want the matches to run smoothly.

 

This will lead to people having +90g which means they can buy 2 water arrows and a boulder, RIP! ;_;

>Unfortunate UPDATE

The match is cancelled for the audience - Almost all my servers are refusing to be changed so I can't create the tournament server.

• This might be an error in the new KAG build.

However I am trying to change one smaller server to host the match.

[EDIT: The match is going to go ahead, the smaller server is working, however there is no space for an audience]

***Announcement

Well after some stress, a very small 4 player server I have (usually called Baron's Warchest Nice 'n Small TDM) actually allowed me to set-up the tournament format.

My appologies, as I know some people wanted to watch this one. But the server situation was rather dire.

Group A had their bash and 2 players are now moving into the knockout-stage, and 2 unfortunately didn't make it but thanks for taking part

• I would ask people who take part in matches and audience members not to spoil the results here as replays of the matches will be uploaded

I will post later on with a replay and commentary. It wen't very well.



I feel both relieved and deflated.

Group A Results

Well it was a disastrous night!

...My large servers went rebellious and we had to launch the session in a small 4-player server, with sadly no audience.

We did however get some GREAT games!

If you wish to see the replay first it will be posted later, but here are the results:

Each contestant had their moment in this exciting bash. But by far and away Verzuvius showed extreme dominance, only conceding 3 kills during the entire sitting.

Order and results for each mini-game:

Holy shit, Verz buys 5 bomb arrows and then spams them to win - please make it 50 gold on every spawn ;_; snowballing FTL.

 

I got 5 bomb arrows thanks to some spawnkilling before the match begun.

 

i like the map with the big ''rock'' in the middle. Who climbs to the top for the ''explosion'' first. A map about sacrifice, friendship, pure skill and... penis.
