Chapter 3: One does not simply walk into Rodrom...

With the Lord of Wyrms bested in battle,
The sounds of death did elsewhere rattle,

Across the land a mighty war raged,
Many a race this fight had engaged,

The clamour of steel against steel,
With no man willing to kneel,

The kingdoms of man fell like flies,
With many a people meeting their demise,

But hope was not lost, for some did stand,
United together, against Noruas’s Black Hand,

In a desolate fort stood the Warlords of Old,
About whom, many a legend has been told,

From their ranks rose a leader of men,
Against evil he did stand, time and again,

This paladin of light fought for all that was good,
Besting all that was evil, wherever he could,

Beset on all sides by forces so vile,
Rushing forth like a sea of bile,

This saint amongst men gathered his merry band,
And rushed forth, to reclaim their promised land,

The flash of steel was ever so bright,
Many a fiend fell before this great Knight,

With the land smeared with the dead, he did proclaim,
“This war is pointless, tis a bloody shame.”

And so this great Ghost did march onwards,
To the source of all evil, a spire eastwards,

Faced with such an impossible task,
Their fears this band did stolidly mask,

Alas, before them stood a force so great,
That the mightiest of men did quake,

The Orcs gathered their forces from far and wide,
    Forming an unstoppable green tide,

Not one to quail in the face of terror,
Our master charged forth, fearing not error,

His band of men followed suit with a mighty roar,
Through wave after wave they bravely tore,

Many Orcs fell beneath their onslaught,
Ever so bravely our heroes fought,

Against all odds they sought to prevail,
The cost was too great for them to fail,

Slash after slash and hack after hack,
    Refusing to ever fall back,

But alas this foe was far too great,
These men did resign themselves to their fate,

These heroes of old stood firm,
Not a single one of them did squirm,
To their deaths they were resigned,
Though many an Orc was rendered infirm,
They fought on, for the glory of Mankind.

Just wait until you read the sequel...

Just to give you a little hint, I've been listening to this a lot:

What I imagine both you and the WoO accompanying you to look like:

    Legend of the Hold

    The air was cold
But he would keep the hold

    Alone he stood
For as long as he could

    The scene was morose
    As enemies drew ever close

    He drew his Blade
    Which could not be stayed

    And with a lurch
He dropped down from his perch

    With such force
    And without remorse

    Down he crashed
and at his foes he slashed

    until the ground was red
    and his enemies lay dead

    With this he was done
with him alone had the battle been won

    So, covered in blood
The hero dropped with a thud

    And so he was slew
But was soon to be born anew

As the one who was so bold
In the legend of the hold

Chrono's gone and made a poem, now you all have to as well. I may try my hand at writing a short story, although it could end up being quite long.

    Happy Thoughts

The sentinels of old stood so bold,
Lonely protectors of this land of ice,
Defiant in the clime of dreadful cold,
Through flesh and spirit it did slice,

The walls of Fernost stood unyielding,
Its mighty stones were forever enduring,
From the evil yonder it was shielding,
The safety of its people it was ensuring,

A banner of blue flew from the towns keep,
    Representing hope, ever so deep,
It waved as a standard for all that was good,
Guarding over the people as they were asleep,
Against all evil, they had withstood,

Each day the sun will rise into the sky,
Banishing all remnants of wicked lies,
Casting its yellow hue across the valley,
Penetrating even into the darkest alley,
As if the sun were their closest ally,

Whilst the present was ever so bright,
The past was as gloomy and dark as night,
For these walls had beaten off a horde of red,
In this war the Fernites had profusely bled,
And sacrificed greatly for all that was right,

Many a noble paladin fell in this war,
Sacrificing their lives for the good of all,
Forming those grand legends of yore,
For the end of their people they did forestall,
By slaying the Red, whom they did outscore,
The gratitude of us all, they did enthral,

So, as the night gives way to the glorious dawn,
The sacrifices of many we do greatly mourn.

If only it were ANZAC day, I think this would be quite fitting.

It may be 11 PM on a weekday, I may be sleep deprived, I may need to wake up early tomorrow, and I may have more important things to do, but...

    THIS... IS... THE... SEQUEL!

    Chapter 4: Bugger
As the dust settled on this horrid plain,
From the heavens, soaking tears did rain,

Through the clouds of dust and gore,
Our mighty warlords of old, were no more,

There stood a solitary figure, leaning on his sword,
As down to Earth, these heavenly drops had poured,

As the wind blew he did tremble,
No human being he did resemble,

His once shining plate mail was torn to a shred,
Chinks and scratches made by the recently dead,

His helmet slowly fell to the ground,
Where it crashed, with a horrid sound,

Freed from this helm his hair did flow,
Such luxurious locks, none did know,

Blacker than the very night eternal,
Challenging that of the most infernal,

His grip slipped, his hands fell from the blade,
As he did fall, the life from his eyes did fade...

A sight so tragic we shall never know,
For through that land, a river of blood did flow,

The sounds of this struggle did through the land ring,
The scent of this disharmony the wind did bring,

Many a man would bow his head,
In honour of those who were surely dead,

Although a defeat this battle did seem,
The last of the Orcs fell with a wicked scream,

Their reign of terror would end,
Against such evil our heroes did fend,

But alas, with the last of the Warlords fallen,
As the substances of their being had been stolen,

Into the legends these men would sink,
Of a sadder fate, one cannot think,

For as the wheels of time do turn,
This epic yarn few would learn,
The legend of the Warlords would fade,
Such a tale some would dare spurn,
Of such horrors, I am truly afraid.
