    1. Forgot to mention many things in that post, so to answer your question... no. You dont need to die over and over to degrade yourself. What I didnt add was that if you want to change class from your current set you just go to the class changing thingy that Dragon drew up.

    2. No. You need to get higher. Maybe 10 kills.

    3. Understandable points. Difference is that... (Slight edit to last post now o-o) K/D percentages will not matter. As long as the current Kills are around a certain level... you can change on demand. (Secondary change activate)... you'll continue to have these upgrades throughout the game till you die around 30 times. Then after that all upgrades are erased and you'll start again... and by start again.. I mean you'll have to kill another 10 times to get that upgrade and so on.

Does these new rules make more sense? :o

    Wewt :D
Oh, and another smaller change. IF... and only if (This is for the newbies who die way more times than they deserve)
Armor upgrade. So... if they suck greatly... their armor would be boosted slightly but can be broken after a few dozen hits. If they die with the armor on.. they have the option to get a new one in the armory... it's free btw. (This feature is only active if the deaths are more than kills.) This constant armor upgrade will continue till the newb manages to either learn... or surpasses their deaths with kills... and get their original armor back. I call this upgrade. The newbpack. It's the only upgrade that's needed for trainees.. and will be the only one.

That's okay, im talking about the dipshits that go medic and only heal 1 guy (usually someone they know) no matter what, just yesterday I was playing and I was on fire, the medic was right next to me and I called about 10 times but he watched me burn to death while he healed a heavy that wasn't taking any hits :(

So wait do I have to maintain a 3:1 K/D to get the upgrade? or is it get 10 kills have the upgrade for 30 lives no matter what?

No no no, it's like this. Say you got like... 20 kills and died 19 times... upgrade is still there. But if you manage to get anywhere above 30 or so deaths... you'll lose the upgrade.

What im trying to say is that no. There's no need to maintain a 3:1 ratio to obtain an upgrade. Except if you dont want to lose your upgrade.... You can gain an upgrade any other way... just not when your above said limit of deaths. At that point of death you'd just get a pat on the back and a noobpack armor upgrade.

Really? I think that noobs should stiff it out!!! But really if everyone had this upgrade, which doesn't seem hard, they would still be equal but just take two seconds longer to kill each other. Do you see my point?
I agree!!! Luckily I was on today, and sniping everyone in sight (yay!!!) I was taking a lot of pyro hits and taking hits from soldiers, lucky I had a kind medic healing me all the way! Yes I have seen your predicament too, true very annoying!

I see your point actually. Another point I just realized is that the pros, the ones doing most of the pwning in the server, would kinda suffer if everyone else on the other team has that upgrade. But at times, not every match is full of noobs.. sometimes there's a few and sometimes there's tons... and sometimes.. not all matches last a shit ton of time... mostly due to those noobs... o-o

But hey, what you say there makes sense. Unless you consider the massive influx of noobian blood rushing in from the Cursed Machinations of Steam... might wanna use this as a small handycap for them. A sort of week or month long mechanic that would give the noob that upgrade when they suck too bad. Maybe even slap in a handy tutorial that'll turn on after the 5th death with it in. xD

I see, when I started to play, as did many people, we so the tutorial, play a bit of single player (classic both modes) then when you understand it go into battle and learn the hard way.

And would this also work for archers and builders, too?

I would be OK with different weapon loadouts, but having to pay for them in game just seems kind of silly. People wouldn't get them often enough to actually train with them, so people would stick with their tried and true weapons that they are used to.

Once KAG is on steam. It should support guides! We can make them to show the noobs how its done!

Someone could make a staged 3vs3 battle or battles on a private server, post it on youtube and describe different aspects of the game. I would volunteer, but my computer has enough troubles just running KAG when it gets insane, there's no way I'd be able to make a video. But I would volunteer to help out in the process

And back on topic about the class upgrader: The upgrader shouldn't be for one game only, especially if it takes any amount of skill to use these upgrades. The upgrade needs to be unlocked for every game after you unlock it. If people get a better weapon but don't know how to use it, they are going to be awful with it, and probably die more, so they will stick with their original weapons if they can. If their upgrades are unlocked for every game because they have a certain rank or something, They will have a chance to get good with the upgrade and know how to use it. The system here that I am thinking of is very similar to Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, if you know what I'm talking about.

We will never do a time/kills/achievement based class unlock system. Ever. We are unlikely to add more classes to the game as it stands - if we do, there won't be an unlock system in vanilla.

For those of you with poor killed boners right now, I'm sure someone will mod roleplay with a million different classes and specialisations, but that really isn't what KAG is about, nor something we're interested in doing with this game.

Figured it would be best to be clear.

what in the hell is a "poor killed boner(s)"?
    --- Double Post Merged, Oct 7, 2013, Original Post Date: Oct 7, 2013 ---
Add a healer class! Mouse right would be to charge up for 15 seconds to heal 1 1/2 hearts to all in a 4 block radius and mouse left would be to shoot a ray of light that does half a heart of damage.

To answer your question, someone with a poor killed boner is someone who just had their hopes and dreams crushed, their "boner" for the idea was killed.

and no healer class, this isn't even the right place to discuss it.

I was just thinking about this. Only the twice as long to overheat thing. This really isnt on the subject of class upgrades, more of just a matter of logic. A builder, one who is trained in building, hence the name builder, can only drill for the same amount of time as the other classes. Shouldn't the class who already is pretty nerfed logically be able to use the drill longer because that is his job to? Makes sense to me.

My idea for a class upgrade ::)::thumbs_up:
    Knight Upgrade: Royal Guard
    Health:
    5 hearts
Left Click: Jab lance in chosen direction (1/4 to 1/2 heart of damage)
Left Click (hold): Charges up attack. When you release, you will start running forward uncontrollably doing double damage to any enemies your lance hits. If you press left click while running, you will end the charge attack by swinging the lance upwards, knocking any enemies up in the air and stunning them.
Right Click: Tower shield. Covers a larger area with higher defense, but makes you almost immobile. Can glide better.
    Space: Use item.
Items: Flash bomb (stuns enemies), slime bomb (slows down enemies), fume bomb (weakens enemies).
Other: Is much slower and heavier than the knight. Cannot wall climb. Very hard to swim. Meant only to guard the base or to protect teammates.
