I don't find random bullshit fun at all. I find straight up, you do something, this will happen, there will be a consequence or reward. Goat Simulator isn't a PvP game, it's a game where you play it for 10 mintues, laugh a lot, don't even play it again. Most people don't even buy it, they just watch a YouTube video or two. Yes, two. I've watched more KAG videos than Goat Simulator.

They should just spend time fixing the glitches, maybe do a bit of balance, then get the community together to rent a bunch of servers, then a free weekend. Hopefully, the community will be respectful to the new players, maybe even go easy or don't play for a couple of days so the newbies can get into the game better.

And sorry for replying to and like-spamming old posts, I have a bunch of time to burn and not a lot of data usage available.

Another big issue is the steep learning curve. My buddy has just recently started playing w/me again, and he's finally having fun after taking a few days to warm up to the game.

A big issue is just things new players won't know, like how to build effectively, how to make sawmills, how to bomb jump/float, and the mechanics of the game. There needs to be a tutorial built in or something. People don't have the tolerance for learning curves like they did before. This is almost like the Quake of side scrollers. The new players' skill drastically outweighs the new players and the learning curve/gap is too high. This discourages new players from joining.

 

Everytime I see you play you trash talk your teamates for not being as smart to the point where I have to mute you. You should stop doing that too

 

That's excessive. I might say one or two things after people have ignored consistent warnings like "they are tunneling under our base" but I don't sit around shit talking people to the extent that I need to be muted. You're exaggerating a lot.

 

@TheDirtySwine is planning on making a lengthy tutorial for different skill levels, different classes, etc, whenever he can get recording software or something like that.

Also, @Aurora- made a single video so far for a Knight Guide. A loooooot of people want an Adventures Of Dave. This would act as a bit of entertainment (just watch first video), while still being decently informative.

So, @revsta , these things will hopefully take care of the problem with needing tutorials and having a steep learning curve.

And also about him overexaggerating a lot, you are under exaggerating. You are probably the worst team-rager that I have seen in along time, even going to the point of personally insulting me and a couple other just because we weren't doing something to your liking.

 

My dad is stealing most of my paycheck and I have no say because I'm still a minor. I'll probably record it next time I'm at @xRush101 's house.

 

New people don't check the forums; nobody new is going to see any tutorial that isn't built into the game.

 

Well, I could see a Steam Guide working out.

Other than that, I think that word-of-mouth might work, or an update with a little tidbit attached about Guides, or maybe even a Steam review with the Guide, and we can all upvote it, or something.

Personally, I don't think the learning curve is steep at all! I play so many games and I just don't want to play anymore because everyone is so good - it only took me a couple of weeks before I was getting a 0.5kd playing UP archer.

 

My mom did that same shit and claimed it was for rent. The fact is he actually CAN'T do that (Something I found out years later) but good luck trying to fight it. You could always threaten him that you'll quit your job if he doesn't stop taking your money (After all, you're basically working hundreds of hours for free) or you can tell him he's taking too much and he has no right to do so, then offer to sign a rent agreement stating a specific amount every month (If you make $500 a month, $300 a month for rent is fair for the equivalent of one bedroom, but more than that is not fair or come up with other methods.)

In any case, good luck sorting that bullshit out.

As fun as talking about swine's family life is I'd like to get back to the topic at hand: Increasing the number of people who play KAG. About the hostility of the community, I joined during that popular steam sale and remember the outright persecution new members faced. Steamies this, Steamies that, they're ruining the game. I'm sure that scared a lot of people away and I'm not so sure it wouldn't happen again if the game went on sale today. About weapons with different stats: no. You get good at this game by improving your ability to predict the actions of those around you. This would be even harder with more classes or weapons. About cosmetic options: yes please. I was playing on a server with silver shields and thought they looked great. I would easily pay money for different shields, swords, or armor. Having different items based on achievements would just further elitism imo. Vote muting, implement it. If someone doesn't build during build time, shame them. Price keep it at 10 put it on sale for less.

Rant complete. The only thing I wish for kag is for there to be enough players/servers that I don't have to play on last kings. Hate that server

Edit: had another idea, free weekend, ban everyone who owns the game

i read @Blue_Tiger post somewhere about being able to change for example the spead of shooting arros 2x for them to do 1/2 dmg i think that might add to actually strategy but would be a shiton of balancing
