    Btw, i wonder when the first water-base designs and bridge designs will start popping up on the builder forum, and how they will look like.

    If stone is staying as plentifull as it is, i will probably only use wood for backwalls.
    I have this idea:

    You have 3 towers and a main base.
    In the main base, 3 wooden backwall trails originate, and when set on fire, they break the last support for one of the three towers. This could be very usefull to collapse towers you have lost control over from a distance.(if its not used to grief >.>)
    But i'm not sure if it would do so well in practice.

    Wood is significantly more plentiful in the next build owing to the fact that you get 6wood per chop (and the value is moddable) rather than 10wood per tile. I think a few uses for wood have already become apparent in testing, we will hopefully be able to get a vid together for release of a CTF game with water and wood (probably ~8 players)

    Playing with map layouts has lead to a few discoveries, including that islands are very well protectable with a water border (because the enemy have to bridge to you, which is much harder with the horizontal support requirement back (even with the current bugs that are getting rooted out before release)), but also fairly tricky to push out from (because you have to bridge). This is fun, because it forces builders to get on the frontline and bridge across, and it's also a dynamic equilibrium situation (because if you take the enemy tower, they have to push you back past the water before they regain their advantage.
    As long as the water is a dive-able depth, you can build a pillar upwards and build across, but then you have to guard your pillars from sneaky enemy builders. It's a nice attack/defend situation (and would lend itself well to a team of just archers and knights fighting from a pre-made fort against a team of builders and knights trying to cap their flag, actually).

    We're going to have to increase the power of a water assault though, with vehicles. That'll likely be the first thing we address after the impending release (in Michal's words: "They have have bridge wars for a week, while we get at least rafts together").

    Imagine boats!
    You could make a workshop one-tile-deep into the water, and you can turn that into a Port. There, you can assembly Boats with tons of wood and coins!

    A 5-people-long boat, where they can walk freely and shoot arrows, or go to the other coast with knights to drop them off near the enemy!

    Okay, i'm going too far with my imagination...

    sooo....
    if im right, we get this:
    -classes(?)
    -water
    -fire(?)
    -wood
    -overworld(?)
    -more customisable stuff
    -vehicles
    and then it kinda stops?
    couldnt you just try finishing kag, unlike most other indie online games?
    I play a lot of games, and about 8% finished before the creator left.
    90% was not finished, but was left anyway.
    and the other 2% was completely shut down, even though i'd paid for it!
    (I play about 50 indiegames, do maths and figure it out for yourself!)

    From what I've read (Excuse me if I got this wrong) But are animals going to be made by Modders and not yourselves?
    One of the things I was really looking forward to was Hunting! (I read it somewhere but I can't find it right now).
    I read on one of your posts that you already have the Sprites of animals ready all that needs doing is movement etc? :bison:

    I'm a bit gutted they're not gonna have time to completely deconstruct the game as they were originally gonna do, there's no point in them half arising it and it been rubbish, I'd rather have a decent war mode with alot of depth in terms of more siege equipment and other crap. The thing I might end up been particularly disappointed with overworld wise was their plans for all the different classes, I mean not all of them would be viable or anything within a more simplified game, but some of the less MMO classes like the barbarian, pikeman, mountaineer etc and starting as a shitter version of the initial classes might fit in with what geti was saying he wanted to have with a teching up thing going on in a more fleshed out war mode, fuck knows though. Anyway I can appreciate the devs might well have found a project that's gonna actually pay them consistently, and is a fresh challenge where they get to work on something else really cool, not that they're bored with KAG or anything, just since they've obviously had the opportunity to do something like that then I can see why they would pick it up. With all the work they put into planning stuff though I can't see why they might not pick up the project again though in some way or form (bear in mind all the grand plans they had about a month and ahalf ago, they can't be lacking the enthusiasm), but it's smart to be working within the framework of the fast paced game KAG currently is and to make it decent rather then try to tag on the reinvented form of the game they wanted to do with the overworld. For the overworld they wanted to remove team door ladders and all sorts of core gameplay elements of the the more arcadey game we've got, planning and executing all that would be a bitch even with a couple of years I imagine.

    Overworld was just an idea during a moment of over-excitement, so it is not coming.

    Oh, well, as long as KAG keeps getting better, i'm fine.

    DO OVERWORLD really makes this game AWESOME..
    For me NO.
    The Point of the Game is to be the Game ! Not to have many Awesome MODES..
    I bought this game because of TF2-like gameplay and awesome twists.
    And i like 2D + So many players in each team . DARN IT , ITS VERY AWESOME. etc..............:bison:
    BTW: Overworld will contribute more and more bugs to the game, and it will take soo much time to be fixed.
    So i can say is DAFUQ OVERWORLD GTFO :D

    Yeah I certainly feel like I got my £6.50491121ish out of this game and much more already personally, I'd have happily paid that as a donation for the free CTF mode anyway, which is sort of what I did cos that's all that was going when I gave them it.


    Dunno where that cynicism's come from, since it wasn't really a "moment"'s worth of planning that they've put into overworld features, more like gradually laying it out through most of the 400 odd days of the games development, and also the fact Geti's said they might be interested in either returning to the game and making an in depth MMOish style version of it, or at least extracting some of the ideas for a similar game.

    Personally I'd love to know just how long they've got really. I'm psyched they're gonna be working on another game or whatever it is they're doing under more stable financial circumstances, and can appreciate they can't say what it is, I'd just love to know how much longer they can dedicate to the game full time at this point.
