I have created this contest to maybe renew interest in the game mode, and in the hope this will spawn some new maps. Rules 1. One map per person, no exceptions. Multi accounting will result in disqualification. 2. Submit via PM to me. 3. Borrowing significantly from existing maps (including your own!) will disqualify your map. 4. Make a forum thread for the map fter the contest is over. Specifications - Must be balanced for 6v6 vanilla RDM or RCTF settings. - All entries must include a screenshot, a short description about the map, and the map file. - All maps will be judged out of 30. 10 for fun/balance, 10 for aesthetics, and 10 for creativity/originality. - Deadline June 10 11:30 PM Pacific Standard Time. - Everyone is welcome to enter. Tips - Test out your maps by swapping out the swordfight map for them. It's really hard to judge a map just based on the file. - Novelty maps will not win you high marks unless backed by solid gameplay. Monsteri's CastleCrush is a good example. - Similarly, the aesthetics portion will not be satisfied by stuff like depictions of nyan cats. The focus should be on the flow and balance of the map, looking at weight and balance. - It's a good idea to check out older popular maps if you're not familiar with RDM. Most of them have sunk to the bottom of the Maps section, so dig deep! Q&A If I am already premium do I still get the premium code prize? Yes. If I win can I give the premium code to anyone I want? Yes. What's a good size for 6v6 RDM maps? A wide range will work well, playing a bit of RDM will give you a good feel for size. Are symmetrical maps ok? Yes. Can I update the map after I submit it? Yes, but you must do so before the deadline. Can I get a deadline extension? No. I am offering a gold account and maybe a small pixel trophy as a prize. If you have any questions about the contest or even about map making feel free to contact me. Good luck map makers!
