Hey guys, I was thinking about how to balance fire and you also have to take into consideration how easy it will be to put a fire out.

You might have to dig a well of sorts to have easy access to water (or even have a well be a custom shop type).

I think buckets have been more or less confirmed but will there be other ways of putting out fires?

Could you soak the wood beforehand to make it harder to ignite? (Instead of catching fire it will dry out first.)

If fire arrows can make things set on fire, I doubt it would just take one arrow to do so.

Instead, there will be a small chance to set something on fire. A chance on the arrow, not the buildings it crosses. Therefore it would take around 4-5 fire arrows to get a good chance of setting something on fire.

Perhaps it cannot let wooden walls catch fire, since they're too solid for that. Instead, they need to let background wood catch fire or a workshop for the wooden blocks to catch fire.

Who knows... Whatever the case is, I bet it will be fun to play with!

Most likely you'd be able to chop the burning tile before the fire spreads.

I would really like it for fire arrows to be able to set fire to a wooden block it touches however it would smolder for about 4 seconds before it burst aflame which in turn takes time to spread (to an extent of 10 blocks or something?) During the smoldering time (and when it is aflame) it can be punched out by any class. But for sure when it is flaming a builder can smash the fire with their hammer, because that is perfectly normal and reasonable.
It would be amazing if you could use a fire arrow to set off a trap across the whole map :)
I disagree when they say wood will be less used because in the test build you can see how easily you can get wood making it an abundant building material (a lot more abundant than the stone we know of today). Also you can upgrade wood blocks to stone blocks by placing over them and using this process it will cost less stone (not sure if that will keep because it can having balancing problems considering wood blocks only cost 5 wood). In addition wood can act as a quick repair or a support to your already built stone building (have you guys seen all the destruction?).
