Is KAG dead?

Rather than spending time questioning the livelihood of the game, we should be brainstorming ways to improve it.

Pick an internet personality; spam them to death? Are you guys down?

I've been with it since the beginning. Back when it was about actually gathering gold. Back when large scale fights were a rarity. I think it appears to be dying because after the pretty frequent blitz of updates Geti was rolling out, they just stopped. No new gameplay stuff was getting added. Zombies took too long to come out, and it was only supposed to be a tertiary mode. Hell, CTF was only suppose to be secondary mode to "full KAG". And wait and wait and wait and still nothing. People are getting tired of waiting and just going on to different things for now. Once the new stuff finally releases I suspect many of those players will return.

Hopefully King will return as well. I miss you King.

I can only hope Kag full release will be any good. Hope is whats keeping Kag alive for me.

This game has yet to attract the quality media distributors such as youtube celebrities and whatnot (except for totalbiscuit, unfortunately), and nowadays that's how indie games like this grow to popularity. The terraria trailer effectively went viral by manipulating people's hype centers with its pacing and concision, for instance. Conversely, I have yet to see a single fanmade KAG video that isn't horrendously autistic. I think that's a good measure of the breadth of this community.

In other words, I think a good trailer would greatly help boost KAG, which will probably happen after development has ripened.

There's good trailers. Could they be better? sure. Everything could.

 

What about ockpii? I guess 2700+ subscribers doesn't count as popular...
