Hello everyone, I installed yesterday Fedora 19 ( Linux ).

I installed latest video cards server and I destroyed the Nouveau driver to make nVidia drivers work ( Niark niark ). On Windows 7 ( Dual boot ), KAG works fine. And under linux, I am around ~25 FPS with max graphics in solo TDM. But when I go on a buzy server with lots of people, you can imagine it is horrible to run with 10 FPS...

    Any idea?

Are you totally sure you've installed the right video drivers? Try running another video game.

Apparently my graphic card was underclocked! It is strange.

And a lot of people haves a problem with linux too about the sound, it works, but the stereo is really strange and there are some strange noises sometimes...

PS : I have a problem with Wine when I try to start a game such as Portal 2, it says nvidia xRendR is damaged or something like, and it falls back to xRendR 1.0 that does not support pixel shaders, while KAG is now working fine. I reinstalled the drivers.. Any idea about it?

Ok it keeps being laggy and it uses 95% of processor... Is it using the integrated graphic card in my processor or my nvidia 240M?

Edit : There is no error in the logs, and it detects my graphic card without problems :

Any idea? It is really boring. It lags as hell when a bomb is throwed for example.
Minecraft works perfectly. I was talking with nkChehov, he said it is maybe a problem in KAG code?

I really want to play KAG on Linux... Noone knows?

It's probably because you're running propriety drivers, they don't always work 100% - If you change the resolution to windowed to something like 1024x640 or 800x600 or lower, do you get any boost in performance?

The nova drivers worked better for my Nvidia GeForce GT 620M when I ran Fedora, but I always ran it windowed and in 1024x640

When I'm running 640*480, when i spawn 4 bombs in solo for example, it is laggy.
Since this afternoon i'm using compiz-fusion, will using old drivers will kill it? And how to use nouveau drivers back, and deleting nvidia drivers? Will I lose performances for other games like minecraft?

I believe you need 3rd party/proprietary drivers for Compiz to work and it may or may not affect how well mincraft and other games play. Only one way to find out and that's by doing! :D But hey if you're running linux, you like a little bit of an adventure right? :D:B):

    I found this:
    http://www.if-not-true-then-false.com/2013/fedora-19-nvidia-guide/

Apparently it should be as simple as running this as superuser/root:
    Code:
    yum remove xorg-x11-drv-nvidia\* nvidia-settings nvidia-xconfig
you will then need to reboot.

Note* IF you delete your Nova drivers, I do not suggest you do this, as you could stop your graphical desktop from launching. Chances are you just disabled them though.

    Still, not sure if this will help you at all ;;

I think I deleted and disabled then both ( Don't ask me how )
I'll do anyway, if it doesn't work, i'll reinstall them.
    </br>--- merged: Jul 14, 2013 12:52 PM ---</br>
    Ok, it says :
    Code:
    [root@localhost asumagic]# yum remove xorg-x11-drv-nvidia\* nvidia-settings nvidia-xconfig
Modules complémentaires chargés : langpacks, refresh-packagekit
    Aucune correspondance pour l'argument : xorg-x11-drv-nvidia*
    Aucune correspondance pour l'argument : nvidia-settings
    Aucune correspondance pour l'argument : nvidia-xconfig
    Aucun paquet marqué pour suppression

    Same with *nvidia*
    Code:
    [root@localhost asumagic]# yum remove *nvidia*
Modules complémentaires chargés : langpacks, refresh-packagekit
Aucune correspondance pour l'argument : *nvidia*
    Aucun paquet marqué pour suppression

Is that because I installed them from the .run from www.nvidia.com ?
    </br>--- merged: Jul 14, 2013 1:47 PM ---</br>
Tryed installing nvidia drivers from that tutorial, it is slow like before. I'll delete them, maybe it will delete them really

I guess make sure that you don't have the driver blacklisted in:

    /boot/grub/grub.con

Other than that, I'm not sure - Sorry.

Okay, so IF you've uniinstalled the Nvidia driver, and still have the Nova drivers, then all you need to do is edit your xconf file, located here:

    /etc/X11/xorg.conf

    sudo nano -w /etc/X11/xorg.conf

    Code:
    Section "Device"
    Identifier "n"
    Driver "nouveau"
    EndSection
then restart X or reboot your PC, failing that try

    Code:
    Section "Device"
    Identifier "nv"
    Driver "nouveau"
    EndSection
    Good luck friend!

Apparently, the nouveau drivers are uninstalled... Is there a rpm to install it? And what is the command to install them? PS: When i type "X" it says no screen found

Well apparently nova driver is part of the kernel, and unless you rebuilt it then you haven't uninstalled it. It may mean something is blacklisting your driver.

    Check in these files:

    /etc/modprobe.d

Also: You also need to verify that /boot/grub/grub.conf doesn't contain nomodeset or rdblacklist=nouveau anymore.

There is no file blocking nouveau. No matches found for "nouveau" in grub.cfg.
I remember i did something to initramfs, maybe ive uninstalled them...

Pls run these commands and tell me results:

    lsmod |grep nouveau
    lsmod |grep nvidia

    Also:

delete your xconf file rm -f /etc/X11/xorg.conf

    and restart.

Failing all this, we can always re-install the nvidia drivers, which will at least give you a desktop.

Also - You mentioned grub.conf didn't contain nouveau, but you didn't mention nomodeset, did you confirm that /boot/grub/grub.conf doesn't contain nomodeset?

By searching how did I installed nvidia drivers, I found how did i made it on Fedora wiki! I looked up the folder, and I saw the initramfs that I've backuped - I modified its name, I booted on it and it works!
    But two problems :
    1. I installed the nvidia drivers before updating kernel... So I'm running a older kernel...
    2. The original problem is not fixed. And I don't have pixel shaders anymore with Nouveau. But Compiz keeps working.

Edit : If it can help you, your commands gives :
    Code:
    [asumagic@localhost KAG]$ lsmod |grep nouveau
    nouveau 983714 3
    mxm_wmi 12865 1 nouveau
