I still really insist in my opinion that we need to set aside ELO rank and tournament play. ELO is good for permanent tracking of clans performance, tournament can have its own system not related to ELO whatsoever. Also, I still think 3 month for a tournament is too long. MLK was stale after 1 month and people lost interest in it.

I suggest we start implementing the ELO system really soon, let a 1-2 month pass with it and then organize this throne season tournament during this summer. If we put too many happenings at the same time it will feel bloated.

 

MLK never really got stale. Matches were being reported up until the deadline (and some were even reported after the deadline). The problem was that SpideY left and nobody had the time to organize the final elimation bracket with the top four clans.

Okay, we've talked in this thread for 7 pages, now is the time to actually get stuff together. Lets start compiling our list of stuff that will be included in the "rebirth".

-We're doing tournaments, specifically "Throne". We could modify that a little bit
-fixed clan ranking
-ELO system
-forced matches to that list with a maximum of 1 challenge every 2 weeks.
-Better organization of information

 

I do not want organize 2 tournament for this summer, i have already my event the 1 july for the Ancient gear and the challenge of Daskew to do.
Throne need to have the ELO system.
Can we speak Colar on TS this night about this ELO system ? i need to know somethings about it ^^

If we're doing ELO, there is no need to do seasons. All you'd do, is set the ELOs back to square one and then strong clans will feed off of weaker ones which isn't very fun for the weaker ones. I think the only time you should do this is if a lot of clans disband and the ELOs are all wacky for whatever reason.

If you're doing it so you have an end time for giving out prizes, just set a date and whoever is on top on that date will get the prize - not that I really see the significance of a prize. Geti said he wouldn't be implementing any more custom heads and money isn't exactly amazing considering you'll have to share it between 10+ people, and you're not exactly going to get much in the first place. "Oh, yes, I got £2!".

Personally, I think we should just go in without prizes, or maybe some very small prizes like being able to wear a signature saying "Current champions" on the forums (where any player who isn't a member of the leading clan wearing it gets a warning and has it removed from their signature). This is since we are already having problems where people are not wanting to play because they don't want to lose, if you add more weight to keep a solid streak and not losing, you'll only further fuel the fire.

Also, add forced matches to that list with a maximum of 1 challenge every 2 weeks.

This is a community, a close knit everybody-knows-everybody type. One would be foolish if to completely ignore that and go "lone-wolf".

thats kinda crappy. For example AG# fought mist 4 times while BoW fought frisson, Zen, fist, etc

 

How about if you fight the same clan twice or more within 2 months the amount of change in ELO is cut in half.
