No sound!

So I bought the game awhile back and somehow never really noticed it didn't have sound (probably because I used to play with music a lot where game sound wasn't really needed). So I started up to day realized I have no sound, I checked the command prompt thing and it said:

"Failed to create directsound8 object...
Could not startup sound engine."

Any idea what is wrong?

 

Download DirectSound8 driver for your pc.

And reinstall the game too

 

Err where would I find that exactly? (windows Vista 64bit)

 

Uhm which kind of pc do you have ?

I mean like acer, hp etc. and which kind of pc.
For example Acer Veriton X2610G or HP Pavilion p6-2102ed

It should be somewhere writen on your pc or laptop.

 

HP-Pavilion NY428AA-ABA p6110f kinda confused on why you need that but there it is.

Err I'm afraid to download that, seems like it wanted to download driver detective with it and that basically just shoots a whole bunch of malware onto your PC. O-o

Windows Vista 64bit service pack 2, not entirely sure what you are telling me here.

 

My realtek drivers are up to date, 2012 drivers.

 

It is to my knowledge.

 

Reinstalled from the site, still no sound.
