Explain one thing to me, what is the difference between a Swastika and a Cross?

Realistically speaking they are both symbols, on their own they mean nothing, it is the meaning you put into them. Was there a point where people thought Swastikas were being misused by the Nazis and still saw the old use for them (Hindu), yes. What's the difference now, changing the use for it, using it simply because it's a symbol that is beautiful. I don't associate with Jewish people and their symbol but that does not mean that I cannot love the shape of the symbol and use it as a symbol for that specific reason without knowing or accepting what is considered by most to be it's 'purpose'.

I find crosses rather demeaning given what people have done with a cross in the past, and I'm sure I'm not the only one to feel this way. Yet, are people who post maps with crosses banned? Is drawing a cross banned? Is it a bannable offense? No.

    So, what's the difference?

I have actually incorporated the swastika into many buildings where it was productive and where griefers who wanted to break it down lost us the game. This is a categorical error on your part, it's not that it was a swastika that would have lost you the game, it's that you had people wasting resources on pointless things that lost you the game, they are both completely separate issues.

The reason is it construction porpose and its intension, if your construcut something neutral with a bad porpose , that thing become "bad" and if it intencionaly on porpose makes it, even worst. And in this type of situacion the guy was warned and simply continue, he symple dont care. There are many diferent people in the game i think we need to respect everybody.

Aslong as it was meant to be bad. Bad structure or what not. Then you can ban him, otherwise its just for entertainment and shouldint be discriminated against.

I tend to file excessively using symbols as annoying, but I won't take action other than pointing out how goddamn annoying it is unless the builder is deliberately constructing them in places unconventional for the team. When you get down to it, who cares what they waste their time on? If they build something intended to invoke a shock factor, then they consider it a success if you come running to the forums.

If you can prove to me that the person building it is a nazi intentionally responsible for killing hundreds of thousands of Jews, then I will ban them for the act of deliberately constructing nazi propaganda with the aim of gather new recruits to his online fascist agenda that focuses exclusively around comparatively lesser-known indie games. If you can't prove that, then it's just another asshole making a symbol that has, at one time in its life, been loaded with racial hate.

Imagine how the coming Steam playerbase will protest Nazi symbols in the game. I can see the gaming headlines now

" Is KAG pro-nazi?" "Nazis in KAG?"

Imagine all those refund demands to Valve from legit pissed off Jewish players

I was going to say the same Demon.
Also, it's all about your intent when building one.

I sincerely doubt that an indie game on steam will develop a cult gathering of strict Jewish rabbi, who will then unanimously demand refunds upon seeing a swastika. I mean, a swastika? On the internet, of all places! What is this world coming to, I don't know, how screwed up is this world?

And who decides this purpose? The builder or the spectator?

If you seriously still believe this you may want to take a fucking reality check, any Jewish player playing KAG is probably not older than 30, and none of them are old enough to be directly affected, that said I'm sure that the majority of Jewish people got the fuck over this quite some time ago.

Then again if there was a symbol for slavery there would probably be black people still yelling it's racist, so who knows.

You cannot read a player's intent, at most what people do is to project what they think the other person is doing, such things can be seen when someone automatically assumes that a Swastika is bad, evidence is shown in this thread where half of you call it a 'Nazi symbol' and not what the actual shape is, a swastika.

I wonder if one day the majority of the populous will see a swastika and not a nazi symbol...

I find the whole argument ridiculous and wish I could like Bluigi's first comment on the subject more than once. I find crosses and religious imagery FAR more offensive, because if people connect swastikas to the Holocaust, I connect crosses to the millions of people killed in the name of Christianity, the greatest fallacy in history and the Bible, an old book misread. I can't even go on a lunch break during clinical without some zealot handing me a flier with a cross on the front with big bolded red letters reading beneath, "ARE YOU GOING TO HELL?"

Fuck it all, that's what I say. I think crosses are a MILLION more times offensive than swastikas, but in most circumstances I see people allowed to build those... I'm offended, so if we make it that swastikas can't be built, I think we should do away with crosses/Jesus fish/etc.

In KAG, swastikas aren't built with good intentions in mind. They're built by edgy teens for the sole purpose of invoking butthurt. Stop defending the players who do this.

Why did you go out of your way to incorporate a symbol that is structurally weak/unnecessary into a building?

Moral support. Seeing that symbol puts courage into the troops to go become cannon fodder.

I had a time like this but instead it was crosses, I asked him nicely he yelled at me, I was shocked, especially since he was talking to a admin. I had no idea what to do. It is quite annoying but try to play with it if you get to annoyed go on another server.

I see this happen once a day.

It doesn't really bother me, in fact, it actually is quite funny.

Eh, as a Guard I just grief potentially problematic symbols whenever I see them. Means the issue is dealt with before someone starts complaining + I get to indulge in a little griefing for "the greater good".
I am a bad, bad man. I love it. :smug:

Even understanding that difference does not explain why it is necessary to bring any real life symbol in the game, especially when it has the potentially to be offensive for as you have show it is easy to have it misinterpreted.

    This is a game.
Those people shouldn't connect the Religious artifacts and some historical figures (negative things) to the game.
It should be an offense. Cause the people who build those things doesn't have respect for the affected people. Consider it as publicly flaming? or just griefing like what TotalPotato said earlier.
Anyways, there are people who don't know the meaning of the symbols.
I admit this, I built once a nazi symbol in Get Creative server, that was last year.
And I was warned and hated by some people. :(
Until someone said swastika, I googled about that. Then I was sad about the symbol.
After that, I never ever built a swatiska for my whole life ever. :)
