If I say you can hack on my server, you can hack on my server.

If I say you can call everyone a big lipped mongoloid on my server, you can.

The only caveat being that I have to make these rules obvious and available, because at the end of the day, it is my server, disable guards (set guards to banned), and make the rules clear as day.

This is where our ideas differ. I don't understand why it's okay for Christians to kill millions of "Infidels" to gain back their land. Whether you want to believe it or not, even wars happening today happen because of differences in religion. Now let's put these together... A symbol stolen by a nut job who killed millions of Jewish people in WWII... Versus a symbol that has caused millions of deaths, has brainwashed BILLIONS of people over the years, and is still a cause for war nearly 2000 years later? Yeah, I would say that a cross is FAR more damaging and offensive.

the difference being intention and offence received. the swastika was used under the nazis as a symbol of their regime, which was designed around the notion of german might and that the native german population was superior to those who were deemed as either lesser or a different species altogether.

although christianity is responsible for a number of abhorrent things such as the crusades, it's difficult to say that islam isn't also somewhat responsible for christian deaths. the ottoman empire alone occupied the balkans which contained millions of christians for hundreds of years.

to compare the cross as a symbol of christianity to the swastika as a symbol of the nazi regime is insanity. they are not comparable because they represent different things and your examples represent two entirely different periods in time.

of course, the "brainwashed" comment is your opinion and you're entitled to that.

Of course they're all brainwashed. Have you ever been in a church recently? How people close their eyes and sway and hold their hands to the heavens? How about the fact that they treat an older equivalent of Aesop's Fables as the one, true book of God? Because really, that's what the Bible is. It's a book of fables that over the years has turned from an innocent little rabbit into a mutation of it's former self, grown fangs and horns and latches onto people and their insecurities about life.

My biggest problem with Christianity is this life we live. I like to think that it's more than just a test for something that happens after we die. I like to think that what we do and what we accomplish matters, and that we don't just fade away into the ether. I also like to think that if there really is something out there that's greater than we are, that it really does embrace free will and doesn't teach you that if you pray really really hard, all your dreams will come true. An all knowing, all loving God doesn't simply allow children to die because their mothers shot heroin while they were pregnant, or killing innocent 5-10 year olds with brain cancer when they barely even know what sin means.

It's just goofy and pretentious and it boggles my mind how so many people can be drawn into such bullshit. That's really where I stand, I'm not gonna budge. That's why I feel the cross is 100% more offensive than a silly swastika.

Sorry, if the religions are having war because of their contents being compared to others.
Do the atheists ALSO contribute that kind of war because of not having respect to them?
I thought some atheists were so smart about those things but they don't see that they are already being disrespectful to those religions.

There's a difference between aggressive atheism and passive agnosticism. I'm agnostic. I let people believe what they please. I understand that we're here for a reason, I just don't know what that reason is, nor do I believe our savior is a bearded, white, Jewish man. I do not shove my beliefs down peoples' throats, I just get angry when people shove theirs down mine or try to make Christianity and it's multiple affiliations innocent.

I think i'm with bonesauce here, religions are like your d*ck, it's okay to have one and its okay to be proud of it but you don't have to show it to everyone you meet.

The differences between a religion and a nation are few, they attempt to bring together many people under a common ideal, the only difference is whether the leader is a man who tells you some being is your leader, or whether he tells you directly he is your leader. I would trust a nation over a religion any day, and I find it hard to trust either.

I'm sorry, I missed the part where that makes it okay.

so if I follow your logic.
A)You can't compare a religion to a regime (Need citation)
B)It's okay to do bad things if someone did bad things to you
C)Because of B and A, the Cross is okay, the swastika isn't.

Your logic itself is already bad, but it completely misses the point that none of this matters, none of this history at all, at the end of the day it's your stupid perceptions that get in the way. crosses are terrible.

of course, the "brainwashed" comment is your opinion and you're entitled to that.[/quote]
Christianity is Scientology, it just beat it to the punch by 2,000 years.

I think this stands a bit more on personal beliefs than why Christianity is actually stupid, but honestly I think everyone has heard every single reason a million times so it doesn't even matter, most Christians just put it in one ear and out the other.

My biggest problem though is that throughout history Christians have stayed in a decent state of power and thus they are 'conquests' and not 'genocides' or what was for quite some time just wrong doing. I mean it's not like also the early Catholics/Christians didn't keep the Jews down as well, certainly not, oh no sir, I'm sure they did not have any issues with those Jews, no sir.

The only reason the cross is an acceptable symbol to most people is because you see it daily and people tell you and remind you daily that it's a good symbol and it represents holiness and good things, and when you see a swastika you are told it represents evil in man and genocides.

People act like germany was even host to the worst genocide, it wasn't, but anyone who went through high school could tell you that. Oh wait didn't we actually have a recent genocide? Hmm, I wonder, perhaps in the last 10-20 years!

To be quite frank I do not know where people get the millions figure from, how can Nazi Germany round up millions of jewish people, and kill them in 4 years.

One they burned mostly all of the documents pertaining to this upon collapse.

Two did someone count out millions of sets of bones at the concentration camps?

It did occur, but the figure of dead jewish people is probably closer to 600000 or less, most of them just relocated thanks to the oppression, millions of Jewish peoples did not magically vanish.

Also alongside of that The Crusades were not as bloodthirsty and genocidal as people imagined, they were mostly fighting islamic soldiers during that. Knights are generally horrible to local foreign populations europe or middle east otherwise, but they did not go out of their way to commit genocide.

I somehow agree with bonesauce and eamono.
Some Catholics/Christians are boastful to what they have and what they are.
(though I am a Roman Catholic)
Everything are just right, but some Catholics/Christians are the ones who are wrong with their understanding.
My understanding with my religion is that, they guide you but they do not control your body and your mind.
That means you can think freely and move on your own. Some Catholics/Christians today : "YEAH I'M A CATHOLIC SO I AM SAVED! SO LONG SUCKERS TO THE OTHER RELIGIONS". -_- Yes there are some , I think.
Sorry bonesauce if I ever offended you earlier.

If this is left in general, then it should at least be KAG related. The discussion is just turning into political babble.

    In other words,

    Oh rly?
The thread can be moved by the admins to the other section of the forum.

    By the way,
We are STILL in topic, we're not talking about Obamas
    here.
It's about those Nazi Symbols, we are just basing other religions as the ideas to help and resolve on what to do to those symbols being built to some KAG servers.
    --------------------------------------------------
    Umm..
    As what many said earlier.
we can leave the things/rules/system/mechanics to the admin/s of the servers?

And only each admin of the server has it rights to make a rule/system.
So we can't do anything unless there are rules to follow inside that server.

No worries delankski, I'm probably the hardest person to offend you'll ever meet. You could say something along the lines of, "Hey! Look at that mongoloid! Window-licking nigger deigo kyke!" and I would probably just shrug.

GreenRock, religious topic is completely relevant since the topic of discussion is the swastika. The swastika is originally a RELIGIOUS symbol before being immortalized as ZOMGBAD by Adolf Hitler, so I am elaborating on why I find the cross and other Christian imagery far more offensive.

People have been (relatively) good natured about their debating thus far, so I think it's fair to leave it open. That said, however naturally things may have progressed from 'Nazi symbols in KAG' to 'general debate about symbols: their roles in history & relative offensiveness', I think it's time we moved this to Misc. as, imho, we've kinda exhausted the avenues of discussion that directly relate to KAG.

It is obviously directly related as we are getting to the point of why Swastikas are wrong.

The fact that there is no actual backing as to why Swastikas shouldn't be allowed and Crosses should is the main problem, these are two symbols that were both used in bloody pasts (the main reason you guys are against swastikas), so where is the line drawn? That's simply what it's come to, you could just as easily compare it to a few other symbols, but hey, that's the easiest one to have people get the actual point. If you honestly can't understand how the 'Thread topic' and the 'Current topic' are directly related, or how one stems directly from the other, you need to read through the thread again.

Thank you very much for being one of the first moderators to actually move a thread so that discussion can be continued as opposed to closing it!
