Best starter is Nincada. It evolves fast and gives you 2 pokemon from 1
Also, I hate Shedinja on all Mistery Dungeon games :'<

Am I one of the few people who liked the Mystery Dungeon games? I have a personal bias towards rogue-likes, but I personally enjoyed most of the Mystery Dungeon games. I actually liked the whole guild idea, and Gears of Time (or whatever the fuck it was called) gave me a story I was actually able to give two of my precious shits about. I spent way too much of my life trying to find Mew in the gameboy advance games as well XD (BUT I GOT IT IN THE END, AND IT WAS SO WORTH IT).

Pokegen is a cheating tool some use to create Pokemon to whatever their heart desires but stays in the game limit. Which is why the site pokecheck.org exist. (To check if a traded pokemon is hacked or give away something of your own without actually losing it)

Getting shinies isn't too hard, if you know what you're doing. :P
    In the earlier gens, anyway...

not true.. in gen 5 it is the easiest it has ever been for getting shinies as the matsuda method has been set down to roughly 1 in 2100ish rather then 1 in 4200ish (i think) and 1 in 8200 in gen 2-3 (excluding hg and ss). the only immediate shiny that is easiest to get is gyrados from hg/ss/g/s or event legendaries

I don't think they're running out of ideas. More likely they've realised that people will still continue to be attracted to Pokemon for the same reasons, and the increased weirdness of said Pokemon will only add to that.

TBH, people don't often give Pokemon the credit it deserves as a solid RPG with hell-hardened mechanics. Certainly, they seem to have made things a little 'softer' in more recent versions, but lets just take a quick glance at what it has:
Let's just look at 2nd gen, where it really comes into its own. Not only do we have the foundation from 1st gen, but we have a large set of new things which you can do to achieve greater and greater results with your Pokemon, greatly rewarding the effort you put into both the act of training and the planning behind it. We have the Pokerus providing us with yet another fantastic reach goal, we have long breeding chains, we have post-conditional evolution chains, we have gender breeding (important, as females have lower attack but more balance overall), we have Apricorns and the special balls created with them, which alone manage to turn the act of Pokemon hunting into an entirely new game. This is awesome stuff, guys.

That's actually pretty creative to release atleast 100 new pokemon every gen, and if you think it isn't then they had no ideas from the start of the franchise.

Well most of the gen V pokes are OK but some are pretty horrible. Scrafty is a stupid pants Pokemon and Sawk and Throh look too human. The starters are pretty disappointing and the two cover Pokemon are also ugly. Druddigon is dumb too. But for the most part they've been alright.

If you really want to complain about gen V you should complain about the ridiculous power creep with stuff like Darmanitan. 140 Attack with Sheer Force? That's fucking ridiculous. Not only that but they give it a great offensive typing and decent speed AND a great movepool with STAB Flare Blitz and U Turn. That straight up hits harder than most legendaries. Then you have Victini with V Create which is a 180 BP move. Conkeldurr, Chandelure, Volcarona, the list goes on and on...

And don't even get me started on the Prankster garbage.
