The random picking bug was fixed in the last update I believe because it no longer occurs, but as Bunnie already mentioned you can still use rcon to make that happen.
You can ask a server owner (sometimes even admins can do that if they have rcon access too) or just use it in singleplayer/localhosted server or a dedicated server inwhich you have rcon to run this command for you.
/rcon string holder ='Solaris';string holded ='Henry';getPlayerByUsername(holder).getBlob().server_AttachTo( getPlayerByUsername(holded).getBlob(),'PICKUP');
as you can see there the one who will hold the other will be you (Solaris, your username) while the one that would be holded will be Henry (a bot, as a singleplayer test?)
you can change Henry with the username of the guy you want to hold. [and I believe that some server owners love to mess around with that so I bet they will run that command for you if you ask them (see: daskew87 ) :P ]
