RP- The Shroud descends

"Lark!" Ella looked down at her hands. "Wha..what? Uh, ok, guess I should get you a body then..." She ran to where the head had come from, fighting off zombies while searching for his body.

//EDITED, too fit in a little more.

 

But Lark's body was nowhere to be seen, lost in the midst of the battle, "Ok, ok, nothing to lose your head over right?" He said to himself.
//Pun intended

 

"Uh.... So... what now?" Ella said dodging a zombie and clinging on to the skeletons head.

 

Ugos charged (with effort) an earthen hand, swiping a part of the wall which was damaged by boulders into firewood.
Seeing a confused, headless Lark wandering around on the outskirts. He laughed, but didn't put the skeleton out of his misery.

 

The gate strained and groaned and busted, letting the army into the centre. There lay a large zombie blocking the path, "uhh Ella? Throw me!"

 

"This is probably going to end badly..." She pulled her arm back and tossed the skull.

 

"Doesn't it always?" Lark yelled before being caught by the large zombie, "nice to meet you my names Lark. He said to the zombie before it swallowed him whole. The zombie then started to twitch and a dark aura sputtered out of it, "how do you like my new look?" It said, zombie Lark then charged in wreaking destruction until he was knocked over by a certain werewolf he gad encountered earlier: Raxor. "Oh it's you again," Zombie Lark muttered as he pulled himself off the ground, Raxor bared his fangs and made a canine howl.

 

Light stood on the hill where the catapults and archers were "Well.. this plan wasn't in the book..." He sigh with a sigh "These guys will get themselves killed one day.." He said to himself while slidding down the hill unsheathing his sword and cutting zombies to avoid their reach.

//Guys lets remember the golden rule of RP Make the character believable, don't overpower them or create some demented octopus child or w/e.

 

The battle was one sided with the werewolf being stronger and more agile, Lark's skull rolled out and Raxor prepared to destroy him.

 

Light notices the werewolf from earlier and jumps off the hill "Leave my friends alone scum!" Light yells and cuts a arm off the werewolf "Hey there Larky" He says with a huge grin "Am i still a meat sack?"

 

"You will be in a second if you don't pay attention," he muttered. He looked around to see his body stumbling around and rolled over and reconnected himself. He pulled out an arrow from his quiver tipped with silver, he fired it and it hit Raxor directly. It howled and galloped off, "damn! That was our chance, now he can return to Falucis to be healed." A soldier ran up to the duo, "sir there's just too many! The horde is winning, we need to get Ella and you to the shroud, protect you two and banish the shroud! I'll try to find Ella." "Goid luck soldier," Lark replied.

 

Ella looked looked away from the horde of zombies to see an elf running towards her. He filled her in on the plans to defeat The Shroud. She nodded and ran off towards Lark.

 

"Come on Ella!" Lark yelled, they ran into the centre where the shroud lay, it sensed them so it summoned zombies to kill them but the elves and the other heroes protected them, as they charged their separate beams Lark yelled "3! 2! 1! FIRE!" Lark fired his stream of shadow at the shroud.

 

Ella followed suite, shooting her light magic. Their combined magic shot towards The Shroud.

 

Ugos knew, without even knowing HOW he knew, that this plan wasn't working. Even as his companions were firing their combined power, he saw a change happening...
With a sudden epiphany, he realized why the Shroud was swelling.
They hadn't damaged it...
They had empowered it.

 

Lark looked up to see it had only gotten stronger, the shroud then summoned a massive whirlwind. Lark was ripped off his feet and managed to grab a piece of cloth ganging from a fence, "You've all been good friends to me!" He yelled, "Ella, Ugos, Light, Raven, Aspathe. This is my time to go, I'm sorry. The piece of cloth then ripped and he was sucked into the whirlwind.
//Plot twist! X3 I'm just going to see how your characters react to this.

 

"Aww nuts!"
With a sinking feeling, Aspathe sensed that things were starting to go downhill.
"Cease fire!" she screamed at the mages, "You're just making it stronger!"
She started to resume tending the wounded. The ground was stained red with blood. It would be foolish to use her power for everyone. It would just leave her drained and unable to magically heal those who need it most.
"Hey! You three in the brown," shouted Aspathe, gesturing for them to come over.
The three novices walked over, curious to what was going to be asked of them.
"You! Fetch me some more water and cloth for bandages. And two! Help fetch the wounded. Heck, there's plenty of them. Don't risk your neck trying to get them. We need all the help we can get."
In the future, Aspathe would reflect back on this event, and wonder how she managed to survive. But at the moment, she was more focused on helping those lying injured around her.

 

Light stood there in shock and looked at the shroud from afar while gripping his fist so tight his hand started to bleed "Everyone retreat!" Light said with tear filled eyes then he planted both of his legs on the ground and shoved both arms forward creating a whirl wind of flame creating a distraction for everyone to get out. Due to this attack, His arms will never be able to move again since they are now... Burned to a crisp.

 

A mighty roar tore the air into pieces, deafening those nearby and (Witnesses say) uprooting a shrub. This unearthly yawp was produced by the anger of the most dangerous species in the kingdom, when riled up. A dragon? Not a chance. Not even a bear.
No, this was a result of the berserk orc charging down the hill... at the Shroud.
Without so much as an intake of breath, Ugos had reached Aspathe. Without so much as a glance towards the hordes of casualties he continued.
He reached Ella and Raven, fighting for their lives against a legion of zombies. He ran through, trampling the undead unlucky enough to get in his murderous rampage.
He made it to Light, and he shoved him away from his suicidal act, sprinting through the burnt air with no more than a minor burn on his forehead.
And finally he reached the Shroud. A swirling cyclone retreated into it's void-like body and he saw Lark go in...
Into the belly of the beast.

Ugos followed suit.

 

As Ugos hit light as he was bringing cover so we'd all live his burnt crisp arms were torn off into the air like a leaf falling off a tree and being torn to pieces by the gentle wind. "Ahhh!" Light screamed and fell down
