Lark traversed away from the battleground, at the peak of a rather steep hill, he could see for miles around. He spotted a group of goblins raiding an innocent traveller, he pulled out his bow. They screamed in petty fear as their leader fell with a well placed arrow in his skull. They pledged alliance to their hidden assailant, trying to save their lives. Lark merrily hummed a song his ranger friends of old used sing, aptly named. "How many fools can be killed today," he decided to set up a fortifiable position, shooting anything that dared to breathe.

Ella had been wandering through the forest for what felt like hours. She sighed, Light could be anywhere by now, there wasn't much point in continuing to look for him.
Instead she looked to the skies for the Peagsus which had become her friend, Marvel. Ella preformed the spell to call Marvel back to her. She leaned against a tree to wait. The minutes slowly ticked by, yet there was no sign of the Pegaus. She frowned, that spell was meant to send out a signal, why hadn't Marvel come? Unless.. She didn't want to? Ella looked up, searching for the winged horse, but saw no sign of her. She sighed, turning around to start her trek back to Temor on foot.
If only she knew of the battle currently taking place at the orc village...

Lark turned around to be tackled by a Carvosaur, a war beast of the Saurians. The lizard like giant reptile cast an ominous shadow over Lark, he could see into the cavernous mouth, black as the starless night. "Uhh, nice giant reptile, please don't kill me," it was obvious that the creature could snap him in half without batting a reptilian eyelid. Lark sprinted away, regaining his cool, the creature was obviously hungry, he stepped out. "Hey, you oversized skink, no meat here." Lark levelled the bow at it's forehead, "but plenty of bone," the arrow swiftly screamed through the air, the head glinting in the light, embedding itself with a sudden thud.

The bellow of pain from the Carvosaur could be heard from miles away, he reached back for another arrow, but his and grasped thin air, he cursed under his breath, it was not a good time to run out of arrows. He pushed a rock into it's way, it desperately tried to clamber over, it pushed it's head through, and Lark met eye to eye with it for a second. He quickly stabbed a dagger into its eye with a satisfying "squelch".

The Carvosaur sent him flying with a whip of it's tail, into a collection of random items. The creature came closer to him with every passing second, Lark looked around for something useful, and grabbed a finely sharpened hatchet. The Carvosaur bring it's head towards him to bite, but the only thing that it got for a meal was cold, sharp steel. "Tell me how that tastes!" he joked, he brought the blood spattered axe down upon it's forehead with the flat side to further ram the arrow in, the last thing that went through it's mind was the tip of the arrow.

"A Carvosaur? What are the Saurians doing this far out?" he asked himself, he realised that the hatchet could be a useful weapon if modified. He took alot of unnessescary weight off the cutting point and heavied the hilt. He cleaned it after, he could only hope that the previous fight had not attracted anyone… or anything. He was not in the mood for a fight

Out through a window, Aspathe could see that the attackers were... DINOSAURS?!?
"Why the heck are you fighting dinosaurs!?" Aspathe asked Uro.
He shrugged uncertainly. "Something about weapons," he replied slowly.
"How are they carrying the banners?" asked Aspathe. She doubted that the sacks of leather had opposable thumbs.
Uro responded, "That's not the Saurians. That's someone else."

Lark slid his way through the fighting armies, killing with his hatchet when necessary, he carved his way through the orc ranks, hearing of one talking about a healer. He arrived in front of Aspathe, slitting the throat of an orc she was looking at, to take her by surprise.

"Think you would see me again?" He said to her, but just jumped out of the way of the smash of a giant raging orc, he dodged its attacks, slashing it brutally with his hatchet. He was sent flying, his skull rubbing against the ground, he pulled himself up, and the orc charged, but he held his ground. He fired one of his rare heavy-tipped, poisonous arrows straight into the orcs chest.

The orc groaned a primal cry, stiffened up and tumbled over, it was dead before it hit the ground. "What a waste," Lark muttered, advancing towards Aspathe.

Ella soon arrived in Temor, but found no sign of her companions... If only Marvel would appear, then they could fly up and look for them.
At that moment a sharp whinny echoed through the town. "Marvel?" Ella looked around. The pegasus trotted up to her, nuzzling her arm. It appeared she had been here the whole time. Ella grinned, glad the creature hadn't deserted her. She hopped a top Marvel, and the pair flew up. It didn't take long for them to gain enough height that she could see smoke billowing in the distance. Near the Orc village... Ugos!
Ella and Marvel flew towards the chaos. As they neared she could see the fiery of the battle, the clash of swords, the stomp of a dinosaurs foot... Wait, dinosaurs?! Why were the Orc's battling dinosaurs?!
Marvel hovered at the edge of the battle as Ella scanned the area for the others. A Brachiosaurus wandered by, snacking on a nearby tree. Yeah, a real useful addition to the dinosaur forces.

Ugos floated lazily around the skies, shrouded in darkness. The sun was blotted out by smoke, ash and blood. He suddenly heard a distinct growl of one of his brethren nearby. He leaned down and floated towards the corpse of an orc, fresh blood spurting from it's chest. He bared his giant canines as his bounty came into sight; Lark!
Withdrawing his sword, it flared into dark flame, as if in anticipation of the kill. He unclouded himself and lifted his sword, drawing a ray of solar energy into it's frame. It glowed brightly (or darkly) for a second, before unleashing a beam of pure sun at the unwary skeleton.
    'FZchhh!"

Lark was hit in the back by a fizzling beam of power, he dropped down winded. He looked around from where it could have come from, and saw Ella on the edge of the battlefield. "Sorry Ella, wrong place, wrong time," Lark fired an arrow, straight for her head.

Ugos was puzzled by the skeleton's reaction. As Lark looked around and picked up his bow, he saw the target; Ella.
His mind was suddenly filled with conflicting emotions as his task was battering his emotions aside. As the arrow was nocked, he struggled harder. The emotions were now winning. The bowstring was pulled... tighter... tighter... ever tighter... taut.
He gasped as though his air was sucked from him, and he realised with shock that he was no longer a demi-god... the overlord had withdrawn his powers! In a split second, Ugos ran for the arrow as it left the string, and in an attempt to leap for it, he failed. He hit the ground and looked up at Ella, expecting her corpse to be there... but it wasn't. She was standing, oblivious to the attempted assassination.
    "What..?"
Then he saw it. The small body of rock and mud, pierced through it's runic heart with the arrow. It shivered slightly and rolled over, looking at Lark with it's single eye. Ugos looked at Lark, then back at Goh. The single eye seemed to glisten with emotion, despite Golems feeling no emotions. There was no mouth on the construct, but a single word came out, as it nodded at Lark.

"Goh.."The message couldn't have been clearer.
Ugos spear tackled the skeleton, disarming him, before withdrawing his sword.
    He looked down at Lark.
"When I first saw you, you were killing elves, bones. Seems it will end similarly, traitor!" He spat as his sword plunged down, ablaze with fire and ice.

Ella's mind raced, processing all that had happened. Goh... Goh had saved her life. And Lark... He had tried to kill her! Again! She looked over to see Ugos, standing above Lark, his sword raised. She didn't feel the slightest bit of compassion for the skeleton. All the times he had tried to kill her, all the times he had wasted innocent life...
She ran forward to Goh, clutching him. "Th..Thankyou. I'm so sorry."

"Put me down orc! Ella tried to kill me! She was going to get what she deserved for unreasonably attacking me!" Lark thought Ella had shot him.

Ella looked up from Goh. "I didn't try to kill you," She spat. "I didn't fire a single thing. And so what if I did? How many times have you tried to kill me?! You deserve it." She was filled with rage at the skeleton.

"So be it," he said, he mustered an incomprehensible amount of dark energy, and then shadow jumped out. "Don't come to me if you ever need help, I work better alone anyway." Lark saw a cliff, and ran up to it, "good luck, it won't help you," Lark jumped off the cliff, and disappeared.

"How the? Darnit, must be gettin' clumsy in me old age. Blasted sack 'o' bones."
He turned around to see Goh's lifeless body in Ella's arms. His eyes threatened to tear up.
    He shook his head furiously.
"Good riddance..." He nodded towards the shadow scaling the mountain.
