Aspathe landed outside of Prospor. Folding her wings up, she put on her jacket. As she walked in through the city's walls, the sight of devastation met her eyes.

Zetan ruffles his feathers. He watched the streets from his lonely tree. Mortals running, no, fleeing for their lives. This Shroud that hanged above them all, monstrous, all consuming, deadly...he had never truly seen a foe this great...this powerful. Only the true masters of hell could even hope to stop it. It invoked the smallest amount fear within him. It made him want too achieve greatness, glory, and above all dominance. For now, he would wait. These heroes would not stand a chance against it, but if they somehow did, he would make sure to give them a quick death. Yesss...waiting...

  6. The wind screamed and the sky wrecked its havoc upon the ground. Lightning hit here and there, rain flying everywhere like a mess of needles.

The Shroud flashed every now and then, purple light illuminating the darkness from the dense clouds that spanned to the horizon.

The power was welling up. Any minute now. The Shroud would release it all. A terrible storm. Nothing would survive. Complete and utter desolation.

The sky lit up in purple electricity. The city seemed silent. Waiting in anticipation for the storm. It was coming...

Ella spotted a tired looking leather bag lying on the ground amidst the chaos. Probably dropped by some fleeing inhabitant from the city. She grabbed it, placing the book and orb inside. She slung it over her shoulder, then sprinted for the exit.

After pushing her way through the panicked crowd, and narrowly missing a few bolts of lightening, she finally made it to the city walls. But as she ran out, a familiar face caught her eye. "Aspathe!" She yelled, turning back.

Ryes arrives at this odd old shack.. He see's dead bodies around. "W-what it gods name... it looks like a demon was living here... literally..." Ryes says to himself while shaking. He steps back slowly to only notice a frail flaming creature. He suddenly jumps back and falls onto his butt. He shakes for a few minutes then notices that the creature is close to death. He slowly crawls his way towards the creature and puts his hand out shaking ever so quickly. He sticks his hand closer and the frail creature unlights itself.. Its only a fox a beautiful red fox. It had some runes around its fur so its obviously then normal creature but it was a fox.. and it was dieing. Ryes picks it up in his arms and sees a handmade collar that says.. "Scorn" Ryes says quietly "You poor thing.." He pets it softly but it tries to resist it barely has any strength left to move so it just opens its mouth and lets out a smell yelp. "Its okay baby.. don't worry i won't let you get hurt" Ryes says while petting it softly, Scorn slowly gets closer to Ryes while its in his arms. Ryes puts the fox inside his back pack its head is sticking out and has a apple near its mouth in case it needs to eat. He explores the shack to only find that it once belonged to a human, he finds all sorts of armors lined across the wall and a bookshelf full of blacksmithing books. The place looks a few months uncared for so the owner must have left this place somehow Ryes thinks. He sees a chest piece with a right arm plate that goes down half way, that would work perfectly with his gauntlet. He takes the armor stashes it in the backpack but gets nipped by Scorn. He probably doesnt like the fact that his old masters stuff is getting taken away by a stranger. Ryes also takes a one hand sword and slings it around his chest so he can pull it out from his back. He then takes what food he can find from the shack and continues off exiting the forest to only end up in Temor.

Zetan, all to well with the quietness, decides it would be best to leave. He narrowly avoids a lightening strike as he flaps his small wings over the wall and back to the same tree that he was previously on. He then watches with a little bit of excitement.

//I wanted the fox to try and eat him :(

The Shroud loomed larger than before. More darker. More dangerous. Something big was going to happen and Aspathe didn't want to be anywhere near it when it happened. The surviving residents were thinking something along the same lines as they ran for their lives. One was stuck by lightening and fell down, never to get up again.
    "Aspathe!"
Turning around, she saw it was Ella calling her name. Like Aspathe was going to stick around. She, like everyone else, fled the doomed city.

Ryes runs right out of the forest into Temor, he notices that its been through some rough times but its slowly getting itself back together. "Oh my..This must be Temor.." Ryes says to Scorn as he runs off a small hill and landing onto the grass plains of Temor. *Scorn "Areeoww~" he makes a cute noise while trying to recover on Ryes back* Ryes looks back at scorn still abit afraid of him but he pets his head softly and feeds him a small piece of the apple. Ryes grasps his back sack strings and pulls on them to bring the pack closer to his back. He takes a deep breath "So.. Sc-scorn... you ready to start an adventure with me?.. " He says while looking at the fox.

The fox only looks at him and makes a face. [IMG]
"Well... alright then.." Ryes walks into Temor to start his new life and probably try to drink away the experience in Prosper he just had.

Ella sighed, seeing Aspathe bolt off, and continued on her dash for the exit.

Finally outside the city's walls she called Marvel down. She mounted the pegasus, and the two flew off. Away from the wreckage that was the once proud Prospor.

  13. "Can we just go now? We're kinda running out of time." Raven warned. "Just a moment... Finally found them all." Arthen said. "Found what?" Raven asked. "Chaos tomes." Arthen replied. "Right, now let's go.." Raven said. The two bolted out of the city at very high speed.

Frost turned back to the city, he was going to save as many as he could. He walked forward, and rounded the corner, to see a disgusting pile of flesh with heads and arms. Frost was ready, he picked up a rock, and charged.

  19. Beings rushed out of the city gates. Humans, elves, gnomes, et cetera.

But elsewhere, the city was silent. Not even the bark of a household dog could be heard. The rain grew lighter, then altogether, simply stopped.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    It was coming...

Kylar knew. But The Shroud kept telling him. He rushed in the palace, looking here and there for the Lord. The lightning zapped and hit the base of a tower in the palace. The tower exploded and crashed down, sending dust and rubble all across the courtyard. The hooves of horse hitting hard pebble could be heard among the huge cloud of dust. Knights emerged, and behind them, a slightly overweight man wearing a crown, seemed to only just be hanging on to his horse. Kylar observed them from one of the higher floors of the palace.

He jumped down from a height, where a normal man would break his neck without doubt. He landed, pinpoint, exactly next to a stray horse, which although tamed, was frightened immediately and reared up on it back hooves, prepared to gallop away like the wind.

However, Kylar stabled the beast and after climbing on top, ushered it to catch up to the small group of elite looking knights.

The group never looked back and headed for the rear exit of the city, where no one was anymore. The ground was covered in fried corpses, and the horses seemed to gallop frightfully faster among them.

Kylar caught up easily and patted the rich man on his back.

He shrieked like a comedian and snapped his head backwards.

"Don't worry. I'm here to save your daughter." he said.

The Lord did not reply, but pulled out some fabric.

"Part of my daughter's gown, found in her room. Guards reported of shadows, darting across the palace rooftops. Last seen location, southern outskirts of Temor. Bring her back alive, you'll see wealth you've never seen before." said the tired looking Lord.

"I don't want your money. I want your daughter." he replied.

"..." The Lord took a while to reply as the group galloped out of the city.

"First, we leave this cursed place. Then we'll talk. To my castle! Let us make haste!" he finally replied.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The sky stopped its thunder, and the black clouds seemed petrified. The Shroud looked like a heart of black cloud, beating very slowly.

Then, a deafening roar resonated across the whole of Prospor and its surrounding counties. A bright purple light filled the sky and onlookers covered their eyes in fascination and fear. The Shroud was slightly smaller in size. But it was nothing compared to the destruction it had caused to the city of Prospor. Or what it had been. A huge black crater, smoke rising from the middle into The Shroud, sat where Prospor had once been.

The trees surrounding it, showed exactly what the storm had been capable of.
They lay down, deprived of their leaves, and burnt to a crisp. A hundred inches up, trees still stood upright and tall. But their trunks were burnt on one side, and leaves completely missing. Like half trees. Trees cut in half from top to bottom.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kylar and the group had observed from their high perch on Lord Emeraldon's castle (on a hill). They had all covered their eyes from the bright light and had looked back only to find a black crater with The Shroud sitting in the middle. The Shroud pulsed purple, and slowly drifted off in the direction of some mountains.

Who knows where it was going? Who would want to know? After realizing what it was capable of? Just as The Shroud was disappearing behind a mountain, Kylar spotted a gruesome looking creature, exit from The Shroud's rear. It flew up into the sky, all its feathers falling to the ground. Its pinkish green skin, was once covered in glorious feathers. Instead, purple vein-like marks ran across it everywhere, glowing slowly on and off. Its beak snapped in thin air and a scream pierced the silence of the sunset as it flew towards Temor.

Kylar rushed into the castle behind the Lord and his knights. He raked his mind for the creature's original appearance. He remembered.

//Temor's already had a bunch of zombie griffen's xD

Ella and Marvel had been lucky enough to be out of the radius of the blast. But she immediately realised Frost had still been inside. The Shroud departed, leaving behind a strange creature... Wait, was that a zombie griffen?! It flew through the sky in the direction of her homeland, Temor.

In an instant her plans had been shattered. The Shroud had disappeared, and not knowing where it was, meant the inability to trap it. Frost was either dead, or trapped somewhere in the crater where Prospor used to be. And if the zombie chicken griffen continued in it's current direction... her homeland could be once again under attack.

Much to the pegasus's dismay, she urged Marvel closer to the crater. "Frost!" She yelled, circling over the massive, charred hole in the ground.
