Server configuration tool with a GUI

ok now maqq's version crashes too
I think its my computer not being able to run a server with .kag map files in the mapcycle.
can someone help me?

 

Sorry shadow, I haven't had time to take a look at your problem, but Downburst is right, the problem may be that you are trying to use some outdated .kag. Try removing the .kag maps from your server config and using .png or .gm ones. If by removing the .kag maps it works, then the problem is kag related.

can someone tell me the exact command to save the server map to a kag file?

 

it should be /savemap name
not sure if it needs /rcon or not

If you're trying to get water in your maps, you can always just use a .gm loader with /waterLevel
that won't break in a possible update of kag classic, but you can't save damaged blocks and other stuff, just water

 

"/rcon /savemap blah" is used on multiplayer servers.
"/savemap blah" is used for local games like Sandbox mode.

 

Hi, i've been trying to make a basic server but kag is very different from minecraft : P, i thought i had the requeriments but when using the Server Config Tool with GUI, it appears at started but i can't connect to it in my local network, i've already done the port forwading for the default value 50301, it shows me this error:

...for what i know, i may be missing .Net Framework 2.0, right? but the thing is that i'm using Windows 8 Pro x64 and it has newer versions of NET so i can't install such an old thing like the v2.0...
Another issue...when i downloaded the server files for the first time, i noticed that in the downloads page of Kag, there was only the "Linux Dedicated Server", i dunno if i can use it on windows because i can't find the "dedicatedserver.bat" file (i know is comprensible...i'm trying to use the Linux version after all...what a noob i'm am)

To start a KAG server on windows you have to use the same game files you download to play.

Install the normal KAG game on windows, and go to the KAG folder, then you can find the dedicatedserver.bat file.
Place the KSCT there and try again. I don't know if .NET 2.0 is available for windows 8 so you should google that.

Hey so when i try to use this my server doesn't show up in the server list. I've port forwarded, allowed it through the firewall. Not sure what else I'm supposed to do.

Hey, you should recheck your prot forwarding, as this tool only configures some of KAG basic settings. Any connection problem is either KAG's fault (it works for me) or router/firewall problems, so you need to make sure you configured everything properly.

KAG uses port 50301 for the server. Forward it in TCP and UDP for ti to work. If you are using other port (say 50302) you should forward that too. And also remember to check your firewall, it may be stopping the server from communicating witht he outside.

Im using this tool to setup my clan's own server and it is really easy to use, got to admit there is quite a bit of outside stuff to do, but it gives you a starting point :D

Ive also got a small question, Ive set an RCon password, but don't know how to use it to become an admin on the server. I tried in-game commands like /rcon, /RCon, /rcon (the password) but nothing, so how do I become an admin on the server? In other words, how do I activate the RCon password while Im on the server to remotely administrate it?

I keep getting this weird error no matter which Kagserver.exe I try. My friend gets the same error so one would think it's a common problem, but I can't find a fix through searching the forums.
