Okay I'm not sure where to start but I'll just jump into it. Everyone who came thank you and I hope to see you all next month. This event had somethings rushed and more admins showed up then expected at first. I still had a blast and I know some others did to so that makes it all worth it.

At one point I had to start swapping admins to the peasants which sucks and I'm sorry to those people.
I will make a list and organize the admins next time to prevent this.

The maps were made by me last minute because the vanilla maps wouldn't work well with the mods.
I plan on working on them to make them balanced, should be fine by next event.

The lag was real and really bad sometimes, a lot of us had to re log.
The player count is going to lag the server to a point regardless, I can't do much about it. However the amount of resources from the tent mod was making it worse and it will be modified to fix this.

That should cover the main problems, I think the peasant team will need a few minor buffs to make this more balanced. I'll experiment with things, feel free to voice your opinion here to help.

Quite a few people recorded parts from this, if you did feel free to post the link here. I'll try and get someone to officially record them in the future.

We've picked the winner for the custom head as well, I just got to get his username.

That's all for now, thanks for coming.!!!:heart::heart:!!!

    It was great fun :D

though the frame drops/kag performance issue with the larger player base was making it unplayable for me.

Whats up with that anyway, the issue has been here now for a long time and is still not fixed. any server approaching 16 players just starts to drop in performance rapidly. Even though pings are still good(do not seem to get higher all of a sudden). Is it some bad memory management of the engine, or defined variables?

  8. Kaizokuroof's servers had that too, but it only arose when we were seeing ~40 players on at the AVA. Keep tonnes of RAM and CPU free just in case. Do you mean the framerate issues on your side?

Some suggestion for next time (if there is a next time):

    1. Have 2 servers hosted by 2 different people/locations. That way, KAG shouldn't be an issue and admins don't need to be swapped. This in my opinion is the biggest problem with the event.
    2. Prior testing before the event. There were issues that plagued the whole event such as the lag issue and admin swapping. Most of these issues could have been resolved if there was some testing or detailed planning.
    3. Stricter rules. I'm not pointing fingers here, but some people notice there was admin abuse during the middle of the matches (not during victory/end of match).

    1. I'm not interested, If people want a spot they should show up first or tell me ahead of time.
    2. I didn't think I'd have so many admins show up but they did and I managed. Next time there will just be less admins and less resources to lag up the server.
    3. There was no admin abuse, I caught the guys freezing people once and it was a joke because the peasants had clearly won that round.

Overall I found your advice not useful and outdated.

Admin swapping was an issue? Maybe for like 2 minutes in the first map, that we didn't end up even playing. It was at 12 admins for almost the entire time, and if new ones joined they switched soon enough.

There was testing, that's why all the mods and stuff worked bug-free in the first place.

The lag was kind of sucky but it didn't impede things too much.

    And what is "admin abuse"?

It seemed ugly at first, but you should have stuck around! The lag got much MUCH better imo. It was a really fun event.

    1. Fair enough, but I still stand firm when I say the event planning could have used work.
    2. You should always prepare for the unexpected. Perhaps a sign up form would have made managing easier.
    3. That's the feedback i was getting from people when I asked them how was the event.

Yeah, I am an admin and the thing is, this is what people are saying. I went around servers asking how was the event and this is what people have responded.

I was present the entire event .
    I had no lag.
None of the admins were doing anything incorrectly.
The server was up a day in advance for testing and everything was bug free.
For showing up on time the server was open from what I saw 3 hours in advance
I showed up an hour early and stayed an hour after.

@link6155 , did you read this post?

    1. I have no intention of making these events get over complicated. My role is to fill up the server, provide an enjoyable experience for most of the players, and make minor improvements in between events. If that doesn't sound like enough planning then please take the time to host your own event and plan as much as you want.

    2. This has been answered already.
"At one point I had to start swapping admins to the peasants which sucks and I'm sorry to those people.
I will make a list and organize the admins next time to prevent this."
Also I feel like telling someone to be prepared for unexpected things while hosting a event for fun in KAG is goofy. If you want to over prepare for your own events then go right ahead.

    3. People will always talk shit on the internet even if you're doing something good. The fact you can't even provide one example of admin abuse makes me really not care. I was at the event the entire time, 90% of the people I talked to had fun and said they'd come back. I don't care if people are trolling you about what happened at the event. I can assure you the only thing that happened was 2 admins freezing the flag carrier right before he capped. I was watching the whole time and unfreezing them, I also told them not to anymore and they stop completley. The people frozen in the crossfire were all laughing and the game literally
finished afterwards. I find it hard to believe someone was "abused" from this and it's not something I condone anyways. I told the admins involved that they would no longer be an admin if it happened again.

I really hope your suggestions improve if you're going to continue to post them. To be honest I still find them irrelevant or outdated.

Lol I'm pretty sure every person in the KAG community put together couldn't take on the Goliath.
I died of laughter when I thought of what it'd look like though.:heart:
